Chapter 7

" No, I don't think so, " Vandom says " If he were a Lumarian we seek people would be happy to be around him, remember Lumarian are light casters they bring peace but this guy you just spoke of is completely the opposite " I couldn't argue with Vandom on this one because Dean is in fact completely opposite of how a Lumarian is. Lumarians induce feelings of peacefulness and love due to such qualities humans sort of become obsessed with them. In many ancient myths they have represented a Lumarian as an Angel. " But..." I continue wanting both of them to know everything about Dean " There is something weird about his aura " Vandom raises a weary eyebrow but Drana looks at me encouragingly. Always the best friend. " Like what ?" I ignore Vandom's unenthusiastic tone " Its not like other humans....his aura is like..." I rack my brains to come up with a word that would describe it " Fractured " That's the best I could describe his aura. " Ofcouse, It is fractured . As you said he is shunned by his kind it will have an effect on him and his aura as well" Vandom states. Drana gives me a small nod. " And in no way a Lumarian's aura is fractured, As you put it " Vandom continues " It is strong and bright " I sigh in understanding. Auras are representations of the core of one's soul. It depicts the emotions the person feels as well as the ones he receives from others. In Dean's case, I found his aura incomplete in a way.A part of it is missing but what remained was full of immeasurable despair, pain and unshakable guilt. Why? I have No idea But nonetheless . It is surprising and if I admit, intriguing in a way to see a mortal having such ' Heavy ' Emotions in his aura. Makes me wonder why he is carrying around so much guilt. But the casual intrigue aside, I'm on a mission here to capture the Lumarian and since Dean doesn't fit the bill he is off the suspect's list. That doesn't mean the others don't have a suspect lost of their own. " Eric Rogers, " Vandom says " This guy is the Capitan of the football team" Given Lumarian qualities our yet -to- awake suspect is supposed to have swiftness and speed at least . "Get original, Vandom " I say looking at him " Athletes are usually faster and stronger than your average humans. This Eric guy couldn't be termed as a Lumarian just because of that " " Plus," Drana says backing me up " Kids these days take drugs and what not to increase their speed " Vandom gives a grave nod " I have considered this as a possibility too " And since the guy is the captain of the school team he is famous and will probably have crowds always eager to hang out with him. " I can't imagine the humiliation we will have to face if we grab the wrong guy as Lumarian " Drana shudders, Vandom maintains a grim silence as if he hadn't heard anything. But I know He did . Just as I know that if we fail in this mission we will not only be stripped of our titles as the best assassins of the Dark court but we might be banished to the Brairs. People have been banished to the Brairs for much lesser crimes and once inside no one ever came out. Some say the Brairs is a bloodthirsty maze, Some say the air of the place itself is cursed. No one ever has a clear depiction of the Brairs . Because no one ever saw it. And those who had the misfortune of being banished in there never made it out. " Guys" Drana says looking considerably pale " I guess we should call it a night " Vandom and I agree and head back to our respective rooms but not before he says that tomorrow he will be checking on Eric Rogers again. " I 'll come with you " Drana says quickly " A second eye won't hurt " For a tiny minute, Vandom looks like he would say no but the thoughts of the consequences we will have to face if we commit any mistake is playing heavy on everyone's mind " Fine" He says short and clipped. " I'll come too " I add, best have no doubts in our minds and make sure he is the one where are sent to capture "No," Vandom says this time " Two of us will be more than enough to check on him . You interact with your human sources " Meaning: Caroline and her group of friends "And get us more information about the other humans in this school. You never know He might be someone we are overlooking " I shake my head in refusal " I want to be in on this too " I look at both him and Drama who will be on Eric's trail " All this sitting and chatting will make me feel useless " " Gathering information is important, Enriha " Vandom says in a tone that reminds me of Inna. Drana's lips twitch, She knows I'm more into action than being chatty. It's not like I can ignore the task of gathering information on my missions. After all, it is very crucial but I keep it short and efficient and then get on my way to make the Lumarian on whose hunt I am to say goodbye to the living world. I glare at Vandom but agree. Because as boring as that sounds it is necessary for our mission. Back in my room, Bade is still royally ignoring me . Didn't I tell you that my ' cat ' gives me serious attitude? I feel bummed about this whole 'Interaction with humans' thing but sourly decide that if I'm doing it I would rather give it my best. Yup, I'm OCD like that. And the first thing that comes to my mind is the world literature project. I think the Trojan war is a masterpiece. One of the best piece of literature ever written. And I have to admit, more than a little part of me is happy to be working on this project. Call me a nerd but I don't care. I'm earnestly into doing my project when I suddenly remember about my hot green eyed project partner. Shouldn't he be working on this too? I look down at my papers and scowl. There is no way I'm sharing my credit with him . OCD remember? Unless ..... He puts in some efforts too.
