CHAPTER THREE Mila attacked the ration like it had cursed her mother. She took two big bites out of it, coughing as it refused to go down without a fight. "Miammiam... I was so hungry..." she said, hitting her fist on her chest. "Those are the only rations I could find," Flora said. "They'll do." "I got the same amount for me, but I eat a lot less, so they'll last longer." "Well, alright. But don't starve yourself on my account, help yourself freely, okay?" Flora smiled and turned her leg inwards, digging a hole in the dirt. "Sure." Mila finished the dry rations and pounded her chest to make it go down. It was terrible, but she needed food.
