CHAPTER ELEVEN "Commander Magma. Please respond," Lava said into the microphone sticking out of her workstation. "Commander, this is Lieutenant Lava aboard the fugitive rocket. Please cease fire. I repeat, cease fire." Mila looked from Lava to Flora, waiting patiently. She tried to look all captainy, smug and composed. She tried really hard not to think about how they could have turned them into burnt toast already if the Pyrites didn't have such an aversion to laser cannons. Plasma cannons were of course more powerful, but they had a limited range, at some point the plasma dissolved and lost effectiveness. Lasers would have hit them from this far, albeit with a wobbly targeting and reduced efficiency, but they would have been firing steady for as long as they could maintain power. Lava
