Ronan and I stare at each other for a moment longer before we both rush into action. I hardly stumble on my way towards the window, worried about what the screaming could mean. Ronan slides back into the house before I do and gives me a hand to get in. “Don’t think our game is over, kitten,” Ronan says, waiting a second longer than needed before letting go off my hand. “I am not done with my questions.” I look back at him, letting our eyes meet. “Neither am I.” He lets his gaze linger on my face, then nods.
