VINCENT
Dark brown? Yeah, her eyes had definitely been the darkest shade of brown. So captivating in a way I could not describe. Yet I had read an incredible amount of fear in them, a fear she tried to conceal from the rest of the world. What was going on with her? Was she running away from something or probably someone?
"Am I boring you, Mr. Callaghan?" I pulled my gaze to meet the older man's eyes sitting across the table. Two of his associates flanked him on his seat, chests puffed out trying to intimidate me.
"Maybe if you could stop talking about how great my company is and go straight to what brought you here I wouldn't be so bored," he started back at my bluntness, his face a little flashed.
"Well, I didn't realize talking about your achievements was such inappropriate move at this hour, "He was terribly failing at trying to get on my good side.
"Listen, Mr. Sinclair, I did not wake up earlier than my usual time to make friends with you. Are you in on the deal or not?" I deadpanned, pushing my upper body forward to intimidate him and as usual it worked. He straightened his black suit coat, leaning back on his chair. After a quick glance at his associates, he sighed.
"Fine,"
In thirty minutes time, I was heading back to my office after sending off Mr. Sinclair's trio. I stopped by my secretary's office next to mine. As usual, she had her head buried off in her work like the hardworking and effective secretary she was.
"Eva, a cup of coffee please," she raised her gaze at my request.
"Right away Sir," she scrambled up her seat, her big bump visible under the black free dress. For a moment I just stared at her belly, a feeling of longing stringing its way inside me but I was quick to shrug it off.
"Say hi to that little guy in there for me,"I smiled starting to walk back to my office.
"I will Sir," She smiled proudly.
The day dragged by rather slowly. Maybe it was the fact that I wanted to look into her beautiful eyes and learn what secrets she was hiding. Or Maybe just steal one long, hard glance at her lips and drink in their fullness,
"What's so interesting about a piece of paper bro?" Hunter popped in. I puffed out my chest then deflated it, my serious face slipping in place.
"I just closed off a great deal for the company. Why are you here Hunter?" I rested back on my swivel chair watching Hunter keenly. He was only here because he obviously needed something.
"It's Dad," he admitted with a light frown. There was no surprise there at all. Hunter and Dad had never really been the best of friends.
"What did he lecture you about this time?"
"You know once I'm done with college I have to go for an internship right?"
"And?"
"He says I can't have my intership here. I have no idea yet about where exactly but can you talk to him? He listens to you every single time,"
"Maybe it's because I try to be useful most of the time. You could try that too instead of dreaming about the next fine piece of ass. Now if you'll excuse me , Jenna will be home in exactly twenty minutes,"
"She still freaks out when you go home late?" Hunter's right eyebrow jutted up in surprise, the corner of his mouth pulling up into a mischievous smile.
"She doesn't freak out. It's called loving and caring Hunter but how would you know that? You have never married let alone dated anyone,"
"That's because I'm twenty two. I don't have to get tied down to one woman like you,"He chuckled.
When I didn't respond to that, he went on speaking," You guys have been married for four years now and still there are no junior Vincent's running around. When are you planning on having kids?" I flinch at the subject.
"When we plan to get kids is really none of your business Hunter, so just drop the f*****g subject,"My upper jaw grinded against the lower one.
I pushed myself to a standing position, risking a swift glance at my Rolex wristwatch, 5:11 P.M. Nineteen more minutes before my phone begins to blare with messages and calls from Jenna. The ride down the elevator was bathed in dire silence that I didn't exactly mind.
"About that maid..." I trailed off, trying to pry some information from Hunter without appearing too curious. We were heading to the V.I.P section of the parking lot.
"What about her?"
"Where is she from?"
"She is from the slums but I can assure you, she is very much capable of working efficiently or at least that is what her previous boss claimed. Why are you asking though? Are you scared she is a con or something?"
"I just want to be sure she was the right person for the job,"
Hunter drove home while I drove to the mansion. The closer I got to the mansion, the more nervous I got apparently. On one part I counted myself lucky for marrying the girl of my dreams but on the other hand...I just didn't know suddenly. I couldn't exactly explain the feeling but i felt a tiny c***k in the life I was used to. Deep down I knew it had something to with that new maid.
