Chapter 6 - Come home with me

Max’s POV According to all the media attention the club was getting tonight, Inferno was already a hit. By ten o’clock, we were already near full capacity, and the VIP section was filled will all the celebrities and influencers that I could ask for. The drinks were flowing, the music was pumping, and I had been approached by multiple girls in the VIP lounge tonight and even had many more trying to talk their way into the roped-off section just to talk to me but failed miserably. I don’t know what it was, but I was completely turned off by each and every one of them. Well, all except one, but I hadn’t even met her yet. She had caught my eye the minute she and her pink-haired friend had entered the club. There was no doubt that she was beautiful, she may have been one of the most beautiful girls that I had seen coming into this club tonight, but there was something differently about her that I could quite put my finger on. She seemed to carry herself different than most of the club girls I had met in the past. I watched her the entire night, her moves on the dancefloor were seductive, and I was pleased when I saw her brush off every guy that approached her for a dance. It meant I wouldn’t have to kick anyone out tonight. When she approached the bar without her friend, I took it as my opportunity to make a move. I had one of the waitresses call down to the main bar and had Zoe take her a drink on my behalf as I watched it all unfold from the couch I was sitting on. The young woman and Zoe exchanged words, and then she looked over in my direction. Our eyes connected, and I held her gaze until she turned back towards Zoe. I was willing her silently to turn back around, but that thought was shattered as I watched her push the drink back towards Zoe, and a few minutes later, a waitress came over to tell me that the woman thanked me for the drink but that she didn’t take drinks from strangers. Really? Did she really not know who I was? She was at my club. That couldn’t be possible, could it? So I decided to go down to the main bar and introduce myself. I had never had a woman turn me down, and I wasn’t going to start tonight. The more I talked to her, the more I realised she really had no idea who I was, and it was refreshing not having a woman throw herself at me. I liked that I seemed to make her a little nervous, but she took a drink from me, so she must have been starting to warm to me. From afar, she was beautiful. Close up, she was drop-dead gorgeous. Approaching her at the bar, the first thing I noticed was that she had an arse, so toned that you could bounce a quarter off it, across the bronze skin of her lower back was a black tattoo, a set of wings with a stick and snakes in the centre. Tattoos on a girl were incredibly hot. As my eyes drifted up, I could see another one poking out from underneath her blonde curls, but I didn’t know what it was. When she turned around, she actually seemed surprised to see me, and I got a closer look at her angelic face. It was her piercing blue eyes that pulled me in the most. Unlike most girls who came to the club, she used makeup to enhance her natural beauty, not hide it. I wanted nothing more than to kiss her plump lips and run my hands and mouth over every inch of her body as she wriggled and screamed in pleasure beneath me. I took the empty shot glass from her hand and placed it on the bar with mine before holding my hand out towards her. “So now that we are on a first-name basis, would you care to dance with me?” She eyed my hand cautiously, but I could see her fighting a small smile, “You’re pretty sure of yourself, aren’t you? One drink, and you think a woman will become putty in your hands.” I c****d my head to the side, “I can make it two or three drinks if you want. Come on. I won't bite unless you want me to.” She bit her lip nervously but eventually took my hand, “sure, what the hell.” I smiled and led her over to the dance floor, ignoring the looks we were getting. Normally I didn’t leave the VIP area when I was at the clubs, so it was unusual for anyone to see me on the dance floor. If I was honest with myself, the dancing was just an excuse to get my body as close as I could to hers. As soon as our feet hit the dance floor, I pulled her body against mine, and it fit like a piece of a puzzle. It seemed to take her by surprise but within a few seconds, one of her arms wrapped around my neck and started to move her hips in time with the music. One of my hands gripped her hip while the other trailed down the soft, supple skin of her back until it rested on the thin material covering her ass, gripping it lightly to pull her as close to me as humanly possible. The more I held her and touched her, the more I wanted. When Addie looked up at me with her gorgeous blue eyes, I couldn’t help myself. My hand moved from her hip to the back of her neck and pulled her face to mine until our lips met. At first, I thought she would shove me away, but instead, she pressed her lips against mine with just as much force, and I couldn’t help but smile against her lips. I opened my mouth slightly, nipping at her bottom lip lightly until she followed suit and let me slip my tongue inside in search of hers, which met mine hungrily. Our tongues kept this dance going until we both had to pull back, breathless. I rested my forehead against hers as we continued to move to the music. That kiss hadn’t satisfied me. I wanted more, no I needed more. I moved my head until my mouth was against her ear, “Come back to my hotel room. I want to worship your entire body, not just your mouth.” The club didn’t close for a couple more hours, but I couldn’t wait, and I knew it was in good hands without me. I had never had a club opening run this smoothly. I moved my head back so I could see her face, and I could tell she was having an internal debate with herself. She got up on her tippy toes so she could reach my ear. It’s the only way we could talk this close to the music. “I really shouldn’t. I’ve just gotten out of a relationship.” “Just one night, gorgeous. No last names, no personal information, just you and me with no clothes having an unforgettable night.” I advised her, trying one last time to convince her. She bit her lip nervously, and after what felt like hours, she gave me a little nod. “I just need to tell my friend that I’m going.” I broke out in a wide smile and gave her a brief kiss. “You do that, and I’ll meet you back at the bar in a few minutes.” She walked away, and I made my way through the crowd to find Leo, clapping him on the shoulder to get his attention. “I’m off, man.” He smirked at me, “you sealing the deal with the goddess in silver?” I nodded, “I’ll talk to you tomorrow, but not too early I plan to be busy for a while.” He shoved me away playfully, and I moved to the spot on the bar where I first met Addie to wait for her. Moments later, I saw her coming my way. I breathed a sigh of relief. I was glad to see that she hadn’t changed her mind.  When she got close enough, I placed my hand on her lower back and guided her towards my private entrance. She shot me a confused look when she realised that we weren’t going out the front entrance, but she stayed quiet. When we got outside, I directed her towards my silver jaguar, and it wasn’t long until we were pulling up to my hotel. I couldn’t wait until my place was ready to move back into. I had rented it out while I was setting up my other clubs as there was no point in it sitting empty for so long. The tenants had just moved out, and I was waiting for it to be deep cleaned and my furniture to be delivered before I moved back in. I had been assured that it would only be a few days longer. After tossing my keys to the valet, I helped Addie out of my car and guided her to the elevators, pulling my room keycard out of my wallet as you needed to swipe it to access the penthouse. When I pressed the button for the penthouse, Addie threw me a look, “Something wrong?” “The penthouse, really?” She quizzed, “Who are you?” I chuckled, “I’m Max or have you forgotten that already? Don’t worry baby, I’ll have you screaming it for the whole world to hear shortly.” Her mouth dropped in shock as the elevator doors opened, but she quickly recovered her composure as I started to pull her towards my suite, “you’re very cocky, aren’t you.” I quickly opened my door and allowed her to enter before entering behind her, grabbing her quickly and pinning her against the wall as the door closed. “Soon, you’ll see just how cocky I can be.” I went to cup her cheeks in my hand, but as the palm of my hand put pressure on her left cheek, I felt her wince slightly, so I went to pull back, and that’s when I felt the raised course line on her cheek that her makeup was doing an excellent job of hiding. But you couldn’t stop the way it felt. I had had enough punches to the face over the years to know what caused that. She had said she just got out of a bad relationship, and I guess now I know why. I may have grown up shooting guns and beating people within an inch of their lives, but my family had a thing about hurting women. That was a line we didn’t cross. Even having just met Addie, I knew there was nothing that she could have done to deserve being hurt, and it filled me with murderous rage to think that someone had put their hands on her in that way. She shifted nervously against me, and I could tell she was self-conscious about it. I leaned in and placed a few like kisses along her cheekbone. “I hope you made whoever did that pay.” That comment made her smile, “If you count a swift knee to the family jewels as making him pay.” This woman was full of surprises and could take care of herself, but she seemed so vulnerable now. Was I taking advantage of her bad break-up? Even though we had both agreed to one night, no complications, no feelings, for some reason, I didn’t want her to end up regretting anything we did tonight. Not that I would ever see her again to know if she did or not. I stared down at her, “We don’t need to do this, you know. If you’ve changed your mind, I’m not going to hold it against you.” Addie locked her eyes on me, biting her lower lip again and god, that innocent look gave me an instant hard-on. She wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling my head down until our lips were almost touching. “Thank you for the offer, but I think I’m fine just where I am.” “I was hoping you would say that,” I replied huskily before my lips crashed down on hers.
