Something New

"Can I see what they're saying about me?" I ask, changing the subject, but Gray shakes his head, "Why not?" "I lied to you earlier. They are saying bad things about you. I don't want you to see it, some omegas can be envious bitches." Gray has his cell phone secured on the opposite side of me so I can't see anything, but now I have a phone of my own so I pull it out and download the app. I appreciate his words and his concern but it's my right to see what they are saying about me. "Fine, do what you want, but I warned you," Grayson mumbles unwillingly when he sees me start to make my account. I don't have any pictures so I put up one of a landscape I downloaded a while ago and then I look for the account Grayson showed me yesterday. As bad luck would have it, it's private. "They won't accept you, Mid. They can't just accept anyone, it could be a human," Gray explains and finally gives up and holds out his phone to me. The first tweet on the account has two pictures of me and Grayson at the gym. I swallow as I see us together. I'm really tall, but Grayson is even taller than me so I look small next to him. Feminine and cute. My long hair covers my butt because I have my head back to meet Gray's eyes and he doesn't have a shirt on. The second photo shows how I lifted my finger and started stroking his abs. We make a pretty sexy couple and I'm not just saying that. My round butt is almost out and my legs look long and smooth. Gray in contrast to my pale skin looks tanned and masculine, with those tattoos in full view and his prominent profile. I wonder what we would look like naked and in a bed. @LileaneaMer: "That ugly Rapunzel better stay away from my alpha before I go to #BM just to fight for him." @LivingWTheDead: "Some people have no class or self-respect at all #tragic." @MarkDenial: "How come that worthless wimp can get himself an omega like that?" The rest are a bunch of other comments like that. There are more men saying nice things about me than women saying hurtful things. And it all feels very surreal. I went from not having a single friend and only having talked to 37 people in my entire life, to having 4,320 retweets and 6,210 likes from werewolves around the world, on a photo where I'm standing very close to a man. A pretty hot one. An alpha. The intercom starts buzzing loudly and pulls me out of my thoughts before I can finish reading everything that is being said about me. Grayson gets up from the couch, steals his phone from my hand and leaves the apartment almost running, without answering. When he returns a few minutes later, he's carrying two pizza boxes in his hands. "What kind of movies do you like?" Lion asks, grabbing a small control from the coffee table, "Gray, get napkins and something to drink." Grayson grunts with discontent as he sets the boxes down on the coffee table and goes to the kitchen. "I don't like horror or sci-fi movies. Everything else is to my liking," I reply, getting up, "Shall we eat at the table?" "No. We're not royalty, miss. We'll eat here and without dishes because I don't plan to do any washing up today, or ever," he says, pulling out a box and opening it to take a slice of pizza. He hands it to me even though it's dripping cheese everywhere and I burn my fingers when I take it, "Stop crying and eat. Tell me if you like it." Grayson arrives as I'm taking my first bite and is elated by my little squeal of excitement. I can't believe this flour dough with processed sauce, greasy cheese and mushrooms is so delicious. I don't even notice Lion putting on a movie or Grayson sitting next to me, I'm too busy savoring this thing that probably has more calories than I usually eat in a full week. I love that. Before it may seem possible, I've eaten four pieces and the movie is already halfway through, I'm not paying attention to it but I've seen it before so I'm not too interested. I stop eating just because my stomach starts to feel funny and I lean back against Grayson just because I can and I want to. The moment my head falls on his shoulder, he lowers his body a little so we're more comfortable. I like the way this feels, I like the way Grayson smells. It's kind of... dirty. Not exactly dirty, more like... I don't know, like sweat mixed with something delicious. It smells great but there's something not quite clean about it. I like it though, it’s masculine. Primal. "What are you doing?" Grayson whispers when I let my hand fall on his thigh. I don't answer anything because Lionel is asleep and I don't want him to wake up, so I just let my fingers make circles there, "Mid... don't do that. It's not fair." "Why not?" I whisper as low as possible. "Because I'm getting hard," he replies. His breath tickles my forehead and his words make me look down at his lap, but I can't tell if he's hard or not, "And I just promised you nothing would happen between us." "As long as you don't touch me, I think everything's going to be okay," I whisper, but before he can say anything else, someone knocks on the door and Lion wakes up. Grayson literally jumps to get away from me. "Who the hell is this?" Lion asks, completely startled, getting up. "Hi, Mister Vosse," Gemma replies once Lion opens the door, "Is Grayson here? Felix let me come up but there's no one in the apartment." "I'm here, Gem," Gray shouts, almost running up to her, "You're early." "Yeah, I finished my shift earlier than expected," she mumbles. She smiles at me when she sees me sitting on the couch, but her beauty causes me to stay sill. Damn. I shouldn't feel this inferior in her presence. I've seen my reflection now, and my pictures. I know I'm pretty. Besides, Grayson said exactly, 'You're a thousand times more beautiful than Gemma.' And I know he wasn't lying. Exaggerating, maybe, but not lying. "Okay. Good night, guys, enjoy the rest of the movie. I have stuff to do," Grayson comments giving Gemma a smile and I can't even begin to explain how envious that little exchange makes me feel. That envy is the fuel that makes me get up from the couch and walk until I'm near Grayson to wrap my arms around his neck and hug him. I want to prove to Gemma that regardless of the fact that she is clearly the superior female here, I too can provoke things in an alpha. One she's going to have sëx with, apparently. He of course wasn't expecting it, but hugs me tightly anyway, lifting me off the floor a little. "I'm so sorry for what happened, but we're good right?" he asks, and I nod as I run my fingers through the back of his neck. As I do this, I raise my eyes to Gemma and she frowns a little, almost imperceptibly, but then turns her gaze away, "I'll see you tomorrow, Angel." "Sure, see you tomorrow. Have fun," I reply, letting him go and watching as he walks over to Gemma and grabs her hand before leaving. When I sit back down, Lionel is looking at me with a smirk, "What?" "That was like watching a dog pissing on a tree," he laughs, but I don't find it funny so I just stare at him, "Hey that's just nature, you were marking your territory. It's... normal. Sometimes." "Really?" I ask, confused. It bothers me that this is all new to me. This whole new part of my own nature. "Sometimes, like I said," he mutters with a frown as he thinks a little more, "You should go to the clan library. There are hundreds of books about everything you should know." "Oh, yeah. I'll do that!" I assure and return to the couch next to him. Once I'm there, Lion sighs heavily. "And, uh, I'm not being a jealous father or anything, I mean... I'm not one to tell you what to do, but I seriously recommend that you don't start feeling things for Grayson," he begins, making me turn to look at him in surprise at his words, "He's... let's just say he doesn't give his full attention to just one thing for more than two minutes. He wouldn't give his attention to just you. And you deserve someone who does." "I get it," I nod, and lean back on the couch, "I can control my emotions. I won't feel anything for him, but I've never been with anyone and I like the way he makes me feel when he flirts with me. I've never been kissed, I've never..." "Don't tell me those things, I don't want to know," he wrinkles his nose, "Let's just keep watching the movie, okay?" "Okay. But next time you see me on top of Gray don't feel worried about me. I just want to touch him and be with him, but that's all." Lion makes that disgusted face again and shakes his head, not answering me. All I can do is look up at the TV and think about what's going on just a few meters away from me, in Gray's apartment. Don't let him do this! Screams the wolf in my head, as the envy starts to grow more and more. I have to clench a fist against my stomach when my wolf keeps whining, being much more prominent in my mind than usual. He's our alpha, you have to go get him! "Are you feeling okay, Mid?" my father asks when he realizes what is going on with me, I just try to nod, "I can smell your discomfort. You can go back to your room if you want." "It's not me, it's... her. My wolf, she's angry," I communicate, and Lion suddenly approaches me, concerned, "She's talking to me. This hasn't happened before, not in such a clear way. She says 'He's ours. He's..." "Oh, fücking shït," Lion suddenly exclaims, standing up to take my face in his hands, "Grayson? She's saying Grayson is hers?" Yes! He is! my wolf screams, causing there to be some kind of movement under my skin that I've never felt before. "Oh no, I feel so weird," I stand up and scratch my arms, my heart fluttering, "Lion, help me. This doesn't feel like a panic attack, it's different." "Look at me," he commands and my head lifts on its own as if I'm not moving it myself, "You've never talked to your wolf? She’s never come out?" "No? I just know she's there, but she's never spoken to me directly before. Not like this," I answer. My mind feels strange. Is this the moment when I completely lose my mind? "Don't worry. It's just her, she's manifesting," Lion explains and then I do feel a panic attack coming over me.
