“The party still on for Friday?” my SGT at arms Blake asked after he handed me a bottle of beer, which I greedily took.
“Yeah, just have to figure out where the poles are going, the w****s will need their space and all.” Blake gave me a disgusting look. He hated it when I discussed women in such a manner, sometimes I don't think before I talk.
“You just need to place them in the same spot as always, we have to invite as many people as we can.” I nodded my head, already knowing that much. I guess I had plenty of things to do.
“Yeah, on stage. The last time I did that, it looked boring as f**k. Maybe I should place cages around them.” Blake gave me a knowing look, at least he agreed with me about it.
“I'll talk to the girls and see if they are up to it. Meanwhile, have you spoken to Jared? The boy went and got his ass handed to him over some chick he was seeing. I've warned him about it, but he won't listen to me.” Jared is my road captain, and a busy one at that. He takes his job seriously, but when it comes to the ladies, he would always mess up and choose the wrong one.
“What happened?” I asked, sighing because I was feeling frustrated.
“Veronica didn't tell Jared that she was married after she had been flirting with him. She took him home and while they were having s*x, her husband walked in on them. Let's just say that Jared fought hard, but the husband fought even harder. Put our poor boy in the hospital.” I raised my eyebrow at Blake, wondering how I'm only hearing about this now. They are supposed to inform me if anything goes wrong while I'm away, but it seems as if they can't follow simple instructions.
“How long ago was this?” I asked, taking another sip of my beer.
“Just yesterday. Good thing we have Jefferson on our payroll, he is responsible for Jared until he gets better.” Jefferson is their go-to doctor. If one of them is injured, then they would call on him to treat them. They had no idea that I'm a werewolf and could heal myself, so they thought that I was also visiting Jefferson on days when I got into fights with other club owners who wanted to take my club away.
“Yeah, what about the others?” That was a question that I shouldn't asked because I damn well knew the answer to it.
“Slade is being a jerk as always, even though he's vice president he should learn to tone his temper down a bit. He beat the crap out of three guys who wanted to jump him and had them running for the hills and all.” Well, I didn't see anything wrong with that. If someone threw the first punch, it was fine to defend yourself. He's right, though, Slade is not one to mess with when he gets in one of his moods.
“I'll talk to him, anything else I should know?” I asked, finishing my beer and ordering another one. Blake raised an eyebrow at me because I usually stopped at one, not that I could get drunk or anything, but it was always my routine to have one beer. But today was stressful, because of my father.
“No, that's it, I think.” He replied, and I nodded my head and started to tap my fingers on the counter. After I got my beer, I decided to leave since I had nothing else to say to Blake. I still couldn't believe that I'd come so far, I left my pack and started my club doing exactly what I've always wanted to do. My father was trying to stop me, but I showed him that I wasn't one to mess with. I get that Nashton and I were supposed to take over as Alphas, but my heart just wasn't in it.
I don't know why, I didn't feel like myself whenever I was there. But, while I'm at my club, I felt like I could take on the world with my bare hands. I don't have anyone to worry about or to watch over, it wasn't as stressful as being at the pack, so I opted to be here instead.
Was I wrong for doing that? Like I said, I had plenty of things on my mind, and I wasn't really paying attention to where I was going when I bumped into someone. I smiled when I noticed that it was Sophia, a woman that I'd just about come to adore. We were having a friends-with-benefits kind of relationship, we understood each other and if one of us was to start a real relationship, then the other wouldn't have a problem with it.
"Hey, I just stopped by to check on you.” Sophia said while grinning and showing me those dimples that I've always wanted to see.
“Cool, I have some concerns here that I have to deal with. Kinda stressing me out,” I replied as I ran my hand through my hair.
“Your hair needs cutting, what sort of problems do you have?” I started telling her about what Blake told me earlier, she was also disappointed in Jared and Slade because of what happened.
“What's done is done, though, I'm going to talk to them as soon as I see them. But now, are you here to help me de-stress?” I asked, pulling her closer to me and wrapping my arms around her. She giggled and hugged me back as best as she could. Yeah, I was a big dude with muscles in the right places. I have tattoos like I said, and I'm tall.
My looks made it easy for me to get any girl that I wanted, but I wasn't going to settle down until I found my mate. I know that this was cheating, but I couldn't sit back and wait for someone who I wasn't sure was going to show up.
“Come on then, let's go up to your room. I have some new moves that I want to show you.” Well, that got my d**k hard. I didn't waste any time as I pulled her upstairs with me, time to have some fun.
