Mason’s POV
His official moves to get into me have finally began and now, it’s time to prove that I am the chess master. I will do what he least expect me to.
“You messed up with the wrong guy.” I said out loud after ending our call, warning him indirectly.
It’s also only now that I’m starting to calm down and get back to my senses. I knew if I acted rashly, people might die and I fear for Lucius and Lauren’s life as much as I don't want to admit it. If only I could offer my life to him out in the open to save them, then I would. But I know that he wouldn’t let that happen because it would be too easy for me. He wants the opposite to happen. He wants to make me suffer until I give in.
And that’s the one thing I will never do.
