After having our breakfast, Shone introduced me to some of the lumen wizards in the kingdom. I tried my best to keep my smile on my face but I really couldn't help but wince in pain because my shoes were really killing me!
"Can we rest for a bit?" I asked him and stopped to sit on one of the bleachers near us. I removed my shoes and massaged
my feet.
Shone sat in front of me and helped me massage my foot.
"Does it hurt?" he asked and I just nodded at him.
After a few minutes, I felt a lot better, but when I thought Shone would introduce me to some more lumen wizards, he already took me to my room.
"I think that's already enough for half of a day. You still have training later in the waterzone for you to be able to control your power."
Ah, that's right. The training.
"Will you be there?" I asked him, but he shook his head.
"Master Jed will. He will be training you."
I sighed and let him go. It would be more comfortable for me if he was there. We met a few days ago but I can already feel this connection I have with him. Well, he is my brother after all.
I went inside my room and lay on my bed while waiting for my first training.
I look at my hands and think of water flowing out of them but nothing happened. The first and last time I managed to use my power was on my birthday. But then I lost control and destroyed everything.
"You should not be doing that."
I immediately got up when I heard that voice.
'Gallens', I called him out in my mind. He is standing just right on my open bedroom door.
"Your door is open," he said. But even if I did not invite him to come in, he walked inside my room. "Practicing magic on your own is a very dangerous thing to do for someone like you who cannot even control it."
I looked away from him.
"I know," I said and get up.
"You know and you still did it," he said and smirked at me. I gave him a look as sharp as a dagger and he just laughed at me. "Here you go."
I frowned when he gave me a pair of clothes and boots.
"You can't train wearing that dress and high heels," he said, and I realized he was right. I took the pair of clothes from him and went to my bathroom.
I still can't help being in awe of the things that I got in this room. Their bathroom is actually bigger than my apartment. It has its dressing room inside where different kinds of clothes are in there. Nightwear, ballgowns, dresses and more. I really am living as the princess of this world.
When I went out, Kyle was still there and sitting in front of the vanity mirror. I took the boots he brought and wore them as well.
"Took you long enough," he said, but I ignored him. I took a hair tie from the drawer and tie up my hair. "Ready?" he asked and I just nodded and followed him.
We walked to the long hallway of the palace until we were already outside and in the beautiful garden that is full of flowers.
And then we went inside what looked like a barn on the outside, but once I stepped inside, it was like I was entering a different world. A world of Ice.
"What-"
"Welcome to the Waterzone, your highness," Master Jed said while standing there and waiting for us.
"This place," I started.
"Some of us call this place the Waterzone, but it is named as Agua Zona. And as you can see, we are surrounded with Ice because Ice is made out of water," he said teasingly, which made me laugh.
"I'll leave you here," Kyle said before leaving the place.
"I hope you're liking your stay here so far, your highness." I smiled at him and nod. "Good. And I hope you are calm right now."
I frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"Water is like a passage of your emotions. To control water, you need to stay calm. And I can see now that you are not calm at all. You are anxious."
My lips parted and didn't know what to say. How did he even know that?
"Here in Agua Zona, your power in water is heightened. Which is why even the smallest emotion that you are showing, can be felt everywhere."
He motioned our surroundings. At first, I did not understand what he was trying to show me until I saw a little bit of ice shaking on the ground.
"You should learn to control that," he said and smirked at me. A smirk that looked exactly the same as his son, Kyle. "Watch me."
He said. He lifted his right hand and a shape of water followed it. He uses his other hand as well as his feet. He looked like he is dancing and the water was following his every move. It's like he is one with water.
"Don't let your emotions get you, instead, open that door in your heart and just let it flow like the water is flowing in a river. But remember, do not let your emotions get the best out of you, because that's where things could go wrong. Now try it yourself."
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I tried my best to calm myself. I started moving my hand and then my feet. I move just like how Master Jed moved earlier but when I opened my eyes, nothing happened.
"You're holding back," he said. "You're still anxious and you're holding back. Instead of controlling your emotions and remaining calm, you are denying them."
"What do you mean?"
"You are afraid. Afraid that something will go wrong, that's why you are holding back."
"I'm not," I denied.
"Yes you are," he said firmly. "There is nothing to be afraid of here, Shanel. Let your emotions flow and stop thinking of the 'what ifs'."
I bit my lower lip and tried again, but still, nothing happened.
"I guess it's not yet time," he said, which made me look at him.
"What do you mean?"
"Among all the elements, water is the hardest element to master. I know that water is your main element, but even for a Glacies like you, it's hard to control it."
"But-"
"Maybe it's better to learn martial arts first," he said. "I'll talk to the prince about it."
"But I already know how to do martial arts," I said.
"You know the basics, yes. But you still need training," he said, which made me frown. "I know that you really wanted to learn how to use your power to save your friend, but you need to learn it in the right way."
I sighed again and just nodded my head. He left me alone in that place and as I look at that empty place, a lone tear escape my eyes.
"I'm sorry Jillian for not being strong enough."
