ELOISE We walked past the busy employees in the hallway, trying not to draw too much attention because of Adam’s commanding presence. It felt utterly ridiculous. Then we reached the elevator and stepped inside with three other people looking our way. We descended to the parking level, and I sandwiched myself in the back row.
