3. Who is this?

I woke up in the morning to the delicious smell of frying bacon… I felt still sleepy, maybe because of the medicine, I took last night. But how can I stay in the bed when he is out there making us breakfast. I can’t put him through this much trouble. At least I have to help him with cooking, and other houses hold stuff until I go home.
I quickly got down from the bed…
My ankle felt a bit okay, but it was still hurting. So I literally limped to the pantry just to see a far more delicious thing than frying bacon…
Kai was cooking something while having his back turned to me. He was just wearing a towel, which reveals his sexy upper body entirely.
I didn’t even have to see him from the front to know he should have at least six-packs!
It is not that I have zero experience with guys. I had my fair share of fun regardless of all the rules my dad has forced on me. But I can guarantee that I have never seen someone who looks so classy and so damn hot at the same time.
Almost all the guys I had any connection with are the same age as me, but Kai looks a bit older than me. Maybe he is in his mid-twenties. He looks mature than all the other guys, and that has made him even more hot and classy.
My whole body trembled with some unknown sensation with the sight in front of my eyes… My heart started to beat faster…
Without any doubt, I could stay there staring at him all day, having my wild imaginations going on… But unfortunately, Kai disturbed my dream world.
“Good morning.” He said without even turning to me.
Jesus! Does he have eyes at his back as well? How could he know I came here?
I walked so slowly, so there is no way he heard me…
“What has happened?” then he turned to me since I didn’t greet him back.
Oh, My God! Just as I thought… He has well maintained 8 packs. He is totally a dreamboat!
It was so hard to keep my focus on his face when his half nakedness was distracting me so much.
I swallowed hard…
“Good morning…” I barely said.
He chuckled like he understood the trauma I was going through. I felt so embarrassed. He might think I have never seen a guy before!
“Did you sleep well?” he asked, saving me from the embarrassment.
“Yes! I slept like a baby after many days.” I said honestly. Since I got abducted, I couldn’t get proper sleep. Even though those people treated me well, I was scared of what will happen when my dad’s ego cross the limit of their patience…
But under this roof, knowing Kai is there for me, I could sleep without any fear…
“How is your ankle?” he then asked.
“Better… But still, hurt a bit…” I said, trying to turn my feet. My eyelids got tighten with pain.
“It seems it hurts a lot…” he said concernedly, looking at my face.
I smiled weakly…
“I will apply for some medicine after you take a wash. Go, take a wash, and come. Breakfast is also ready.” As with every other request he made, this also felt more like a command.
“Or, do you want some tea or coffee before taking a wash?” this time, he asked more gently.
“No. I will take a wash first.” I replied, even though I preferred to have tea as soon as I woke up. He can go wear something decent while I am taking a wash. I didn’t want my naughty mind to have more wild imaginations with his undeniable hotness…

I took a wash and wore the shorts and T-shirt Kai gave me. Knowing I am just going to hurt my feelings, I stood in front of the mirror to take a look at me. God! I look like a potato!
I looked pale than I have ever been… I could easily act in a zombie movie without any makeup.
Releasing a sigh, I walked to the pantry.
He was making tea. This time he was wearing a pair of shorts and a T-shirt, which highlight his firm chest so clearly.
Thinking, these ugly clothes I am wearing right now might once make him look handsome like this made me feel happy… I felt closer to him… But at the same time, I felt so down because I don’t even look presentable when he looks this handsome…
“Why the sulking face?” he asked worriedly.
“I look like a potato in these clothes,” I replied.
He laughed… You don’t have to laugh and remind me you can be even handsome!
“No, Hailey… You are naturally beautiful, no matter what you wear.” He then said, looking into my eyes. God! The look on his eyes… No doubts, he meant what he said.
Obviously, my face turned red upgrading me from a potato to a tomato… My heart started to beat faster again…
So, he really thinks I am beautiful. Well… this is not the first time I heard that. But hearing it from him was so different. His words could make my heart flattered and made me feel like I am one of the luckiest girls in the world. I know I am just so stupid to feel like this when I have been abducted and now stuck with a total stranger…
Then he asked me to sit and put medicine to my wounds and massaged my ankle applying some balm… He made sure he was gentle with me… How much he cares about me made me feel so much gratitude to him. He gains nothing from treating me like this. Still, he treats me so damn well…
After that, we started to eat… His food was delicious… I couldn’t even understand how he can be a perfect man in every possible way...
At my house, my dad has never made even a fruit juice for my mom. He thinks cooking and doing household work is wife’s duties… Since we had so many maids at home, it was fine. But if we were poor, I can’t even imagine how my mom could go through all the workload without any support from dad.
I have never observed my dad takes care of mom even when she gets badly ill. He indeed took her to the hospital or bring a doctor to the house, but other than that he did literally nothing.
My mom never has any power in our house. Everything happens according to how dad wants.
My mom is so damn innocent and obedient. Still, she gets scolded on daily basis for some mistake dad finds…
When I grow up observing how strict and how self-centric my dad is, I always prayed to have a life partner who is the total opposite of my dad. And for the short time I spent with Kai, I feel he is the total opposite of my dad. Indeed, he is commanding me to do things, but those are for my own good… Maybe that is the reason I feel this attracted towards this handsome stranger…
“Hailey…” when he said my name, I was pulled out from my thoughts…
“Yeah…” I said.
“It seems like we are stuck here for a few days.” He said casually.
“What? What do you mean?” I yelled.
“Can’t you see it is raining cats and dogs… We are experiencing a storm,” he said.
I saw it was raining, but I had no idea there is a storm. Actually, inside this house, we couldn’t hear anything happen outside…
“Storm would be end soon, right?” I asked.
“I don’t know… But remember the mushy area we passed on our way? That area gets completely flooded when it rained like this. It will take some time until we can travel through that area… ” Kai explained.
I couldn’t really remember what area he was talking about. But there must be a way out than that.
“There is no other way out… This is kind of an isolated area…” Kai said as he read my mind.
“Really… That is insane! Why do you want to live in an area like this? ”I asked annoyingly…
“I don’t live here, Hailey… I come here only when I have some work to do nearby. I live in Bergen. ” he said.
“Ah!” I said anxiously… I was desperately waiting to call my dad and go home. I couldn’t even believe how even nature goes against me…
“Don’t worry, as soon as the weather gets okay, I will start the mission to take you home.” He said in an honest voice…
I smiled weakly…
I felt like I suddenly lose my appetite… I know my dad won’t worry that much about me. But mom… She must be crying and getting scolded by my dad for crying… Without even knowing, my eyes started to well up with tears…
“Hey…” I felt Kai’s warm hand on mine… I squeezed my eyes as tightly as I could to stop crying…
“Don’t cry, Hailey… I promise you. I will take you safely to your dad… I just want sometime… I will take care of you as best as I can until that…” he said, gently caressing my hand…
“I don’t care about myself… I am worried about my mom… She must be sick worrying about me… She is so weak; I am her strength… Without me, I don’t even know what she may do…”
I said in a broken voice…
He let out a sigh…
“She will be okay, Hailey… Like any other mom, she will never give up… She will be waiting for you… Since she is your mom, she knows how strong her daughter is…” Kai said, trying to comfort me…
Yeah… She knows me better than anyone else… That is the main problem because she knows I will always do something stupid and get into trouble…
Kai spent few more minutes holding my hand gently and telling soothing words to me… But his actions made me feel even sad because I knew my mom doesn’t have anyone to soothe her like this…
“I will wash dishes and clean this.” I finally said, thinking it will be a good distraction…
He took his hand away and looked at me worriedly… Then he nodded.
“I have some work to finish. So I will work on them.” He said.
I nodded…

I started cleaning the pantry… There was not much to clean for me, so I could finish my work soon…
By that time, he was sitting by the table in the living area, and doing some work in his files…
I walked to the sofa and sat there, staring at the floor blankly…
Then I raised my head and looked at him. He was paying his fullest attention to his work, and the serious look on his face made him look even better…
“Why?” he asked when he suddenly looked at me and caught my eyes.
“No!” I replied embarrassedly.
“If you feel boring, I will do this work later.” He suggested.
“No, Kai… You finish your work.” I quickly replied…
“Hmm… Then if you need anything, just tell me, okay…” Kai said before he buried his face again in the files…
He is worried about me a lot…. Even last night, he stayed with me for a long time, rubbing my head…
I couldn’t really understand what am I feeling about him… The only thing I knew was I feel something special about him. Something I have never felt about any guy earlier… I think he feels the same way about me. Else why he took me in without knowing anything about me and now taking care of me like this? Other than my mom, no one has ever taken care of me like this in my entire life…
Maybe he felt something special about me the moment he first saw me... Maybe this is the result of love at first sight...
After a few minutes, I got up from the sofa to go to the pantry to make us some coffee… On my way to the pantry, I saw the wooden cabinet in the corridor… I saw it earlier as well, but this time only I saw the photo frames on the cabinet…
Almost all the photos represented different stages of Kai’s life. Kai as a baby… Kai as a young child… Kai as a teenager… He looked so adorable in all those photos. However, more than his photos, what took my attention was the photo at the end. It was a photo of a gorgeous woman… That photo seems a recently took one. So this can’t be his mom when she was young. Maybe a sister…
I carefully took the photo in my hand and ran my fingers on that beautiful woman’s face… Kai’s whole family must be so attractive… If he and his sister look this good…
“Hailey…” when Kai spoke behind me, I got startled…
I looked at him with a timid look. I shouldn’t have even touched this photo, I thought as I saw the burning look in his eyes…
“Who is this, Kai?” I asked as casually as I could
“My wife!” he replied coldly without any hesitation…
