However she replied quite seriously, “I am sure there are dozens of gowns up there and you might even make the ball a fancy dress party.” The Earl slowly shook his head from side to side. “I am beginning to believe in this Fairytale,” he said, “but do remember, first you have to give me back my sight.” There was a little pause in their conversation. Then Vara said, “I am praying that it will happen and I am quite certain that the Minister is praying too.” She did not wait for the Earl to reply to her, but went upstairs to tidy herself ready for luncheon.
