An angry Prince

1038 Words
Riana stood with her back to the room, arguments were flying across the table, accusations, threats. But she tried to blank it out, her daughter had run away. Runaway, instead of coming to her to discuss her unhappiness. What did that really say about their relationship? Was she really that scared that Riana would force her into a marriage she didn't want? Would she have? Riana shook her head slightly, no, she would never have done that to Riley.  Riana was glad that Avery was with her, at least Riley would be safe. Or as safe as she could be, being who she was. It would be easy to use Riley against Riana if she got into the wrong hands. She'd sent one of her most trusted people to Amber, she knew that Amber would help her. She just hated that the wolf, Sam, came with Amber. She had a dislike for wolves, although she had to admit that Sam was one of the most charming ones that she'd met in her long lifetime. Riana turned back to the room, and the people throwing insults at each other. Her eye caught the prince's, sitting, leaned back in his chair, his eyes fixed on her. He had expectations, expectations she no longer wanted to fill. She no longer could fill, since Riley was gone. His people were fighting with her people, when one of them threatened to phone his father, he set his chair back on all fours and held up his hand. All five of his men stopped talking at once. Riana lifted her hand, and her people shut up too.  "My father will not be contacted." He said in a deep, calm voice. Finn who'd waited ten years for the princess to be ready for their marriage was at the end of his tether.  "If you could point me in the direction she went, I will bring her back myself." His black eyes held Riana's. "She's my fiance and I am responsible for her safety."  "We don't know where..." Blue, Riana's second began but stopped when Riana cleared her throat.  "You will bring her back here?" Riana asked. She knew she was probably making a deal with the devil, but she was more worried about her daughter's safety at the moment.  "Yes. I'm sure you'd want to make sure she's okay, and the wedding is still taking place here." He said and stood. "I will talk to your search party that came back this morning." He continued and left the room without another word.  "Is there any word from Amber yet?" Riana asked Blue.  "Yes. I didn't want to discuss it in front of, them." She gestured toward the door the others disappeared through.  "No, good thought. What did she say?"  "She said they'd be here in the morning. She did say she would bring Sam, and that we should warn you about that since she knew that you disliked wolves."  "I thought she would. Let the people know too, they will smell Sam the second they step foot on the bridge." She sighed and sat, then continued. "No need to alarm our whole city when the wolf comes to the door."  Finn stood on the deck of his ship, he'd gone back to where he was most comfortable, to gather his men. Hunting the missing princess would be just like hunting any other treasure. And just like all those other treasures in his vault, princess Riley would be found too. He didn't really know why he wanted to find her, it suited him just fine that she'd gone on the run. He had no interest in marrying. To be tied down to one person, to settle, held no interest for him. He'd come to settle the breaking off of the engagement personally, but now that she'd run, run away from her responsibility, he was pissed off. She could have faced him, told him herself that she had no interest in marrying him, just like he had. But no, she ran and made a spectacle of the whole thing.  He'd find her, and now she would marry him. Or maybe he'd marry her, just to make her pay for making him chase all over the bloody land for her. He hated being on land. He felt trapped. Finn had been on a boat since he could walk, he'd gone on his first adventure on a big ship at sixteen, he'd been captain by twenty. His crew had grown and were loyal because he was a good captain, and he'd made them rich. He knew his father was getting impatient with him, he wanted him to settle down, and begin his rule of their kingdom, but his father was still ruling and he still had a long life ahead of him, probably another thousand or so years. It meant he had more time to enjoy his freedom before being tied down to a whole kingdom.  His crew and friends thought he spent most of his days home, with women, lots of women. But he never did. He allowed them to think that it helped his rogue pirate reputation. But the truth was he spent most of his time searching for the next adventure. He had dated when he felt his need for s*x push at him, but those were few, and the women he was with always knew what the date meant. He would never hurt any woman, not the way his father did. Finn smiled, his father was not a bad man, but he'd just always left a few broken hearts in his wake, including Finn's mothers.  He took a deep breath, taking in the ocean breeze. A storm was brewing, he'd have to get to land before it hit, or they'd be stranded on the ship until tomorrow. Finn wanted to be back on his ship in a day or two, back to the search for Stabler's treasure. This spoilt little princess was interfering in his business now. Maybe he'd scare her a little, kidnapping her should do that. Especially when she sees his mixed match of men. He grinned now, yes, he'd kidnap her. Show the little b***h he was not to be messed with.
