5 VERENA HUMMED TO herself as she dressed for the day ahead in a cream-colored pencil skirt with a matching silk blouse. Between Marvin’s death and the pressing financial issues, she had little reason to feel happy, but replaying last night’s scene in the kitchen with Lance at least gave her some respite.
