Chapter Fourteen “Need any help with that?” Alexa looked up at the floatplane pilot and smiled. “No, thanks,” she replied. “I’ve got it.” Standing on one of the plane’s floats, she tossed her duffel bag onto the dock. She thought about doing the same with her small overnight bag, and decided against it. It might skitter off of the dock and land in the water. Sykes was keeping the plane close enough to the dock so that she should be able to make the short jump from the plane while she was still carrying it. She didn’t know how much skill went into holding the plane more or less steady against the wind and current, but how easy Sykes made it look properly impressed her. She shut the cabin door, gathered herself, and made the leap safely. She turned and waved to the pilot. He nodded, smile
