Silver
Nothing could be seen as clear as you see it on the surface but when he goes deep inside something, we face an entirely different aspect of a thing. Even the calm ocean holds dangerous secrets at its bottom, so why not a human to be accepted for carrying the secrets to his bottom. The good and the evils are man made things from one's perspective but when you have to take responsibility and you are willing to go to the extent of anything, you won’t see anything good or bad in it.
That is what a life is supposed to be. When my daughter arrived and I was encircled by the forces of my responsibilities as the queen of this place, I had to put this kingdom before her and I will do it when the right time comes but for a mother, her child comes first. And for me, my daughter was a precious stone of my crown which I have found by the grace of the goddess. How can I not adore her?
Of course, I haven't forgotten about the things I have heard about my daughter and everything which indicates of it’s prophecy, but she will always be my child, no matter what.
I was busy with meetings and conferences held in the kingdom, but after my duty, I wanted to relax for a while. However, my mind doesn't want to rest at all. He was wide awake and all the memories of my blessed times were projected in front of my eyes. I can’t tell anyone how much I miss everything we had… how much I miss Elijah… only my heart knows… I have no source to find him.. Where did he go?
Agan, everyone started to claim him as a traitor and even his own sister is calling him with that name. I understand the frustrations everyone have but maybe we are overlooking something. Nobody said it will be easy ebing a ruler and sometimes, I think I need to appoint a new ruler sooner…
A sharp knock on the door disturbed my peace and I rolled my eyes before permitting them to enter. Not a surprise, I was expecting her to be here.
“Hey girl… looks like you are too busy today.. You did not join us in the morning for breakfast, now you have missed lunch too… is everything fine?” she looked to be concerned but it was difficult to assume if he is still well or just under the influence of the post trauma.
“If my daughter is not allowed to eat in the dining hall, then how am I supposed to eat there?” i started without making any eye contact with her. My gaze was focused on the paper works presented on my desk.
I was pretty busy for a few days but after what happened with Abria here, I will not space anyone, anyone! Though, i did glanced at Daphne when she stood silent. A regret could be seen on her face, if i am not wrong, but i did not care and keep studying the documents in front of my eyes.
“You got it all wrong, Silver.. I can..” she stuttered in between her words which clearly states that she was anxious and terrified of the upcoming conversation.
“Am i? Really?” I slammed the file on the desk and looked furiously at her.
“I can explain…” she said.
“Explain!!! And if I did not find your explanation valid, then you have to bear the consequences…” I grind my teeth and it was obvious that I will not let her go easily this time.
“Silver, listen.. Didn’t i told you about her earlier and how she killed many people before. She almost killed my son. You have seen him devastated after this fight… and being a mother, I cannot tolerate that…. She is possessed with an evil spirit and we have to get rid of her…”
“Are you speaking in sane mind, Daphne? And since then my, mine and self s**t started to happen. Did I ever call our sons yours or mine, respectively… did i showered discrimination on them, ecer? Did I ever make any statement that both of them are different and have a different status in this palace? Have i?” i demanded an answer from her.
“No!!! But this is not the case…” she wasn’t getting it at all.
“Then what? How is my daughter different? Who gave you an authority to judge and discriminate against her in front of all the royals and servants? Who do you think you are to call her a traitor?” I slammed my fist on the desk and my voice was too loud, the ice started to manipulate itself and made sharp icicles pointing at her.
She noticed the tension and hung her head low.
“I know that you have a special place in my life but my children have a special place in my heart and nothing can stop me to love the, protect them. I could have interfered in that fight but I wasn't the foolish one to blame it on just one person. For everything, you keep blaming Abria and you discriminate against her every time… you even called Elijah a traitor… how could you?” I screamed at her.
She was silent and observing the situation and realised her mistakes.
“My daughter has arrived in the kingdom after twenty years, and she is trying her best to fit in heer. But, instead of helping her and boosting her confidence, you kept misleading and forcing her to back out. Are you afraid of something? Is that a prophecy?” I demanded an answer.
“Yes… I am afraid of that prophecy and to be honest, I have seen that devastation and curiosity in her eyes… it’s not my intention to hate her or something but i could help… she reminds me of elijah and how he left us in the middle of nowhere…`` Daphne spilled a few words.
“I still believe in Elijah, as I said earlier we might have overlooked something but you have just made up your mind. I understand what it feels like when left stranded… but assuming things on your own will never benefit you. And if you have already set your mind that Elijah and his daughter are traitors to this kingdom, then consider me as a traitor as well. He was a lover and I think I remind you of him as well.. Right?'' My voice did go a little down but I was still holding that frustration against her.
“No… it’s not that…”
“Maybe you should start focusing on the southern island’s affairs. Zohar has left a week ago to take care of the issues and I suggest you leave as well. I don’t need any kind of negativity around my daughter. I am also afraid of that prophecy but I will never let it ruin her… she is still a blooming bud and with the right guidance and lots of love, I believe she will be all fine. And about that unheard prophecy, when it comes, I will face it with her… you can leave now…” I was glaring at her.
Leaving no room for argument, I expected her to leave as soon as possible but she was still standing in the room. I cannot treat her the way she treated my daughter but I had to take action against this discrimation. No one can do such a thing under my nose or under my supervision.
“Silver, I am really sorry. It’s my fault that i kept my grudge on her, i was frustrated because Elijah left us again and i accused her, maltreated her and even called her a traitor… and i am ready to apologise to her for my stupidity…” Daphne said.
“Do you think your apology will fix everything? I don’t understand what happened to you? You have changed into someone else… What is wrong with you? You are not Daphne anymore….” I spat loudly and then I realised something but I concealed my emotions as fast as I could because I did not want her to catch up with it.
“Are you really fine?” I asked her.
“I am fine, Silver… trust me…” something was really off about that… she doesn’t look fine. She is not Daphne at all..
“Really? Okay… so, where is Daphne?” I asked her.
“What are you talking about? I am Daphne, I'm standing right in front of you…” she stammered but tried to smile.
“Oh…” I sighed and glared at her with my interned gaze.
She shivered under my heated gaze and then, I froze her on the wall… with no time to waste, I brought out the sword and decided to kill the imposter… as soon as my sword touched her skin, she fainted and fell on the floor. I did not understand how she got out of my spell.
“Daphne?”
“Silver? Where am i?” she asked cluelessly.
“You don’t remember what happened to you?” I asked her..
“What happened? And where is everyone? Oh god!!! I was coming to you… i had to tell you something but then, i don’t remember what happened to me…” she was worried and it made me worried as well.
“You want to tell me something? What is it?”
“I saw her.. I saw carmen… she is alive…” Daphne informed me.
