Chapter 6: Eden

I hadn't wanted to see him. Hadn't wanted to know what my buyer looked like. It was too hard. I was scared and didn't know how to feel, but a big part of me wanted to know who I was stuck with. I counted to three, slowly, and opened my eyes to look at him. My gaze ran from his black leather dress shoes to his black slacks, silver buckled leather belt, black dress shirt, black suit coat, and grey tie. I slowly peered up at his hair and how it was messy yet kept a certain way. It reminded me of the golden rays of the sun, and my gaze skipped over his eyes and fell to his pointed nose and soft full pink lips. I noticed how his cheeks were slightly warm with a peach tone. His expression was exhausted, and I could see dark rings underneath his eyes, hidden by makeup that he clearly had been wearing for hours. It was wearing off in places and only showcased how tired he was. I sighed and gave in, walking towards him to follow him to his car. I chose this. It was my decision to put myself onto the site in the first place, but it still wasn't easy. It still had been a last resort. Something to buy me time until I could get my feet on solid ground. "Are you hungry?" Michael softly spoke as he unlocked his white sports car, opening the passenger door for me. I shook my head and heard him sigh as he leaned on the door, waiting for me to get in. "Not really." I knew that he was not happy with me. He wasn't pleased with having me in his presence and I couldn't say that I blamed him. I wasn't that amazing, and I wouldn't expect someone to find me drop dead gorgeous. I was pretty plain to be honest, aside from my heritage. Nothing about me was that miraculous or amazing. I sighed and felt my stomach become nauseous again. My nerves wouldn't stop making my hands tremble and it made me more irritated that I would let myself be so weak around someone like him. "Is it okay if I stop somewhere on the way to my place? I haven't eaten since last night." Michael searched my form as I put my seatbelt on with a trembling hand. I could barely get the damn thing into place but managed to secure it with a satisfying click. "That's fine." I didn't feel like I really had an option. I had to go where he wanted. I belonged to him. He paid for me. I had to obey what he wanted from me. For some reason that caused tears to burn the corners of my eyes and my throat to become thick with unshed tears. "Listen. You don't have to say 'that's fine' just because you think I'm making you. It's just. I'm starving and I can wait until we get to my place, but-" Michael tried to hide the desperation in his voice. I could tell he was really hungry at this point and nervous to tell me that. "It's okay. You should eat. I'm fine." I peered down at my purse, as I played with the thin strap on it. "Okay." Michael sighed and shut the door for me, making his way around the back of his car.
