BLURB
When Aaliyah Walker catches her boyfriend cheating on her with his boss, her meticulously planned future crumbles. This holiday season was supposed to be her moment—the chance to prove to her critical family at their annual Christmas reunion that she could find love, even if she didn’t fit their stick-thin, picture-perfect expectations. But now, with her plans in ruins, Aaliyah is desperate.
In a tipsy act of boldness, she propositions her own boss, the mysterious Jaime Lancaster, with a surprising request: pretend to be her boyfriend for the holidays. To her shock, Jaime agrees—but he may have his own agenda for saying yes.
As sparks fly amidst the charade, Jaime sets out to show Aaliyah she’s more than enough, just as she is. But can she see past her insecurities and open herself to the possibility of real love?
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Okay, so... this story, as you may have already gathered, is mainly centered around finding and loving oneself. As someone who has been overweight for most of my life, trust me when I tell you that I can relate to this book, more than you can ever know. As women, we sometimes tend to focus more on the outside noise, instead of what's actually deep within us; the truth that we’ve known all along. Here's a hard pill to swallow: Not everyone can lose weight... Be stick thin, or have all the curves in all the right places, and that's totally okay! There's a lot more that defines beauty than all of that... a good heart, kindness, a warm personality, love... oh, so much love. This story is dedicated to every woman out there who sometimes feels like they are not enough because they don't look a certain way, because trust me... you are! I have my daily struggles, but I am learning that myself a lot more these days.
For everyone out there who feels like I do, just know that whatever it is that you're looking for in life, that you feel like how you look is getting in the way of, I'll encourage you greatly to work towards it as much as you can, and own the rest of your sh!t and just watch the everything else slide into place!
I hope you enjoy this story the way I know I'm going to while writing it. This book is very raw for me because I am basically opening up to everyone out here and healing myself in the process, and every comment and feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Happy Holidays!❤️
