Chapter 14

Talia greeted her parents at the door and then she introduced Drake to her parents. Talia “Drake these are my parents. This is my mom Victoria and my dad Robert Olsen.” Drake “Hi Mr. and Mrs. Olsen I’m Drake Van-Husen and it’s very nice to meet you both. You have a very beautiful home and very loving children, but I only met your oldest son Brayden, your oldest daughter Talia, your other sons Frankie and Josh and your other daughters Haylee and Lilliana. Your youngest son Nick and your youngest daughter Payton were doing their homework when I came over, so I didn’t want to disturb them.” Robert “Hi Drake it’s very nice to meet you and it was very smart of you not to disturb Nick and Payton from their homework.” Victoria “Drake it’s a pleasure to meet you, you’re such a gentleman and you’re very handsome.” Drake “That’s very kind of you to say that Mrs. Olsen.” Talia “Mom and Dad, Drake and his family just moved up here from Louisiana. We also have a date on Sunday at noon and we’re going to Peaches Café. Is that okay with you guys?” Victoria “That’s okay with us!” Robert “You take care of my daughter and treat her right.” Drake “Of course Mr. and Mrs. Olsen.”

                  Talia just asked her parents if she and Drake could go on a date on Sunday and her parents said it was okay they could go on a date. Robert and Victoria went down to the basement to check on Nick and Payton with their homework. Drake wanted to know what Robert and Victoria do for work. Drake “What do your parents do for work?” Talia “My dad is an accountant for a company called First Bank of Deepbridge and my mom is a sales representative for a company called Juicy’s Cosmetics. It’s an independent make up line. She’ll go to malls to advertise the makeup, she’ll go to parties if someone is hosting a make up party at their house and she’ll get customers to buy the makeup and sometimes she’ll go to cheerleading competitions to advertise the brand.” Drake “Wow your parents have really cool jobs.” Talia “Thank you! What do your parents do for work?” Drake “My dad is a doctor at the hospital here in Deepbridge and my mom is a hair dresser at Lori’s Hair Salon.” Talia “Wow!” Drake “Yeah!” Talia “How many hours do your parents work each week?” Drake “My dad works 60 hours a week and my mom works 40 hours a week.” Talia “Your parents work a lot of hours.” Drake “Yeah! I want you to meet them.” Talia “Maybe I’ll meet them on Friday at the football game.” Drake “You probably will, and Heather will be home for the weekend.” Talia “Cool, I can’t wait to meet her.” Drake “I have to go home because I have to eat dinner before I go to bed since we have school tomorrow.” Talia “Okay I’ll walk you out to your car.” Drake and Talia go downstairs so that Drake can say goodbye to her parents and some of her siblings. Victoria “Hey, Drake you leaving?” Drake “Yeah I have to get home because I have a curfew.” Robert “Okay it was nice to meet you.” Drake “You too.” Victoria “Hopefully we’ll meet your family soon and next time you’ll meet Nick and Payton.” Drake “Hopefully.” Talia “I’ll walk you out.” Drake “Okay.” Robert “Very sweet of you Talia.”
