6. Serendipity

Sana The sound of growling, feral rabid snarls that woke me up that night. It made me gasp and sit up from my bed even though my arm and leg were in casts. The panic that rose inside of me from hearing it is unmistakable, but the pain that soon came after was what kept me awake. I pull myself to lean on the wall and gaze outside of the window just near my bed. Just as I expected, I couldn’t see anything in the total pitch of darkness.
