Conditions and apologies

After giving Mike a guy hug, I turned to face Briannah who was holding onto Mike nervously. I smirked holding out my hand for a greeting as she glanced at it doubtedly. "I know you said she shouldn't come but-" I cut Mike off. Now it's show time Briannah. "Did I? I may have said it in a fit of rage. My sincere apologies Briannah," I looked at her in the eyes as she stared at me obviously taken aback by my words. Briannah's POV "W-what!" my resolve never to stutter before his Adonis like self melted into the thin evening air. "Mike can I please have a talk with her? I really need to get something off my chest," my boss asked looking more sincere than I have ever seen him. What happened to his arrogant self? I just left him at his house a little over one hour ago and his wrath had been immeasurable. I had attended this party just to annoy him more but to my utter disappointment he actually wasn't bothered by my presence. Unless he was planning to fire me or throw me out of the party without causing much of a ruckus. Flashback I woke up in yet another strange room, walls covered in jungle green. Where was I? To answer my question I turned my head to see Mike pacing to and from, hand on his waist, a frustrated look painted across his face. "Mike," I called out. When he turned to face me, relief awashed his face as he rushed to my side. "You shouldn't be getting me worried like this," he stated, his eyes seeming a shade sea greener than they usually are. "Sorry but how did I land in your house?" I questioned. "You fainted in my arms, and me being your knight in shining armor, carried you to my car and drove you here not more than ten minutes ago. I was actually on my way to Dylan's house to pick something when I saw you," "Thanks. I am so hungry, maybe do you have any food in the house?" when he said yes I felt relief awash me. While I ate the lasagna, I explained everything that had transpired between Dylan and I. By the time I was through, Mike had called him so many insulting names. Since I was already sure he would fire me tomorrow, why not have a little fun in annoying him some more? After asking Mike to drop me home, he waited till I was done preparing for the party. As much as I love make ups am not really that good at applying them, so I let Ranee do it. Moments later I stared at my reflection in the mirror, satisfied with my new look and Mike's astonishment only served to make me feel better. Part of me knew the reason I was so dressed up was mainly because I wanted to impress Dylan. End of flashback "Shall we?" I snapped out of my reverie as my boss looked at me, flashing a smile I found so irresistibly disarming. A smile? He rarely smiles. Well, this was new. "Um... Yeah. Sure," I stumbled out each word as he led the way into an inner, empty room. Once inside, he closed the door behind him. Instantly I opened my mouth to speak but he motioned for me to be quiet. Maybe it had been such a bad idea to come with him in a secluded place. Curiously, I watched for any sign of his real monstrous side to sprout any minute and lurch at me but to my surprise that never came. Nervously I sat on the bed and it dipped the moment he settled next to me. "Briannah, I know I have been such a dickhead of lately and it would be so hard for you to forgive me. The truth is I have been through lots of stuff recently and my life feels like some screwed up mess. I know that this doesn't actually justify my actions towards you and why I took out my anger on you," he waged his hand through his neatly styled hair and honestly my fingers were itching to be the ones running through that dark, glistening hair. "What stuff?" I didn't mean to be prying into his life but I blurted out the only thing that was at least making some sense in my brain. I tried to keep a straight face but failed miserably when he lifted his sympathy filled dark orbs to stare into mine. "Just stuff... Complicated stuff. So am I forgiven or do I have to get down on my knees?" the humorous tone was unmissable. "Not until you answer a few questions with honesty," this was my only chance to figure out if something had ever transpired between us. "I had anticipated that would come up. Just shoot," I drew up a deep breath before I finally spoke up. "Did you know me from my past?" "Of course not. I only came to know you after you started working for me," he sipped his wine, drawing my eyes to the way his lips lingered seductively at the edge of the wine glass, shooting my temperature a few notches higher. Why did his goddam lips have to be this inviting? Then I saw him swipe his lips with two fingers. "Do I have something on my lips?" the fake concern in his voice was enough to let me know he had caught me staring at his lips. "No I was just- I mean my mind just wondered off," I hurried on, wondering what I was actually saying and the only thing he benefited me with was an amused smirk. "Don't worry, we both know you weren't staring at my lips, or were you?" my cheeks flushed while my ears couldn't have gotten any redder. "Of course I wasn't. What were we talking about again?" I searched my not so thinking straight mind before it clicked. "Are you sure you don't know me from my past? I won't get mad no matter how bad it was," I tried not to stare at him, afraid I would lose focus again. "Am sure I have never known of your existence till two days ago," He was hiding something from me and I could sense it. "Have I ever been one of your one night stands?" I breathed deeply as the words escaped mouth. "Do you wish to be one? I can easily arrange for that, right now and right here," the huskiness of his sexy muffle near my ear was one welcome sensation filtering through my body. Dylan's POV Her scent filtered through my nose numbing all my senses. I closed my eyes my lips dipping into the crook of her neck -her weak spot. Nuzzling it I closed my eyes savouring the enjoyable sensation of her warm skin. It was when a sexy gasp escaped her lips did I realise that I had just bitten her neck. My fingers ran up her arm just as she tilted her head to give me more access to her slender neck. BRIANNAH'S POV Everything seemed to come to non-existence including the very air I needed desperately to survive. I tried to form a coherent thought but my mind was just as fazed as my entire body. I wanted to tell him to spare me the torture but no words came out. Deep inside me I knew I wanted him so badly but in my defense any straight lady would want this piece of hot cake. I tried to maintain a cool, unaffected gaze but when his passion ladened eyes lifted and found mine, a blush crept its way up in my already flushed cheeks. "You always look exotic when you blush,"he pushed back a lock of hair that had fallen over my face. He leaned in, the air automatically getting charged. Heat flooded my body and although I always knew my curves were generous in their own way but until now I hadn't felt so self-conscious about them. Nor had I felt such extreme recognition of my own feminity. His face was just a few inches from mine, his warm breath caressing my face. "Please I..."the breathless words escaped my lips as a fazed murmur. It was impossible to resist what was being offered and I didn't even attempt to. Very slowly he lowered his head towards mine till our lips were... "Am sorry sir, I..."I jerked away from him as though his proximity was a hot piece of coal. "What!" Dylan snapped at the poor waiter, who trembled visibly as though he just stepped out of a fridge. "S-sir Rennyson asked m-me to bring s-some drinks over. He figured maybe y-you might need them," I felt sorry for the poor fellow . "We don't need any f*****g drinks! Go shove them up his ass! Now get the hell out of here!" the waiter almost tripped on his feet while scrambling out of the room. I rose from the bed and began walking out when his broad hand closed on my wrist bringing me to a sudden halt. I turned to look at him and his eyes stared at me coldly, the warmth that had been there a few minutes ago missing. He stood up till he was looking straight into my eyes. "Nothing happened so don't get any ideas in your head because nothing will ever happen between us," for unknown reason his words felt like someone just put a dagger in my heart. But he was right. I was just a mere employee and unless I wanted to lose my job then there was no way we could get intimate. And for all I know he will be back to hating me tomorrow. Maybe he was being nice because he was high on weed or some strong drug. I answered nothing and instead snatched my hand from his grip before sashaying out of the room without a backward glance. I found Mike tapping on the table impatiently and one glimpse at me, he had that worried look painted across his face. "What did he do to you?" "Nothing. He just apologized for being a jerk for the past two days," I took a deep drink from my wine glass. "You can always tell me," "I told you am fine. Can we please get to the dance floor?" I was ready to do anything to get what had transpired between my boss and I, out of my head. "If you say so, Milady," ever the sweet Mike. From the corner of my eye I saw my boss whispering animatedly to a guy dressed in a black suit before they walked out. I ignored the feeling nagging the pit of my stomach that something was going to happen. We danced to the slow rhythm of the music, our bodies moving in sync to the beat. I loved the way Mike's hands roved around my body and the way his hot breath was fanning my neck was just so adorable. I didn't realize that my eyes had fluttered shut until I heard a sarcastic remark from my boss. I quickly opened them. "You two make a beautiful couple, don't you agree with me?" his arrogant self was officially back. "What do you think?" Mike fired back. "No need to get all worked up buddy, I was just paying a compliment. Mind a dance with me Briannah?"he looked at me. I turned to look at Mike who was busy scowling at Mr. Stewart. "She is comfortable where she is,as you can see," "I don't think I was speaking to you. So what do you say Briannah?" "Of course I wouldn't mind," I smiled stepping out of Mike's hold, who just stared at me hurt written all over his face. As much as I hated to see that look on his face I had to do this. We moved away to a less crowded corner and he placed his hands on my waist, jerking me towards him. The flammatory touch of his hands had me drawing a deep breathe to calm my hyper sensitive self. He must have noticed because a smirk tugged his lips. "Am sorry about how I acted back in the house," "No need to apologize. Your wrath is well deserved," whatever was happening to him all of a sudden was difficult to explain. "So you are not going to fire me?" I asked puzzled. "Why would I fire you?" "What about the ruined suit?" why not take advantage of his good mood? Maybe he might forgive me for that too. "The suit? Well, I'll only forgive you on one condition," his smile could never have looked more incredible. "Of course. Just shoot," I didn't care what it was just as long as I wouldn't pay the suit, then I was okay with it. "It's very simple. Something that you can easily do,"he watched me still smiling. "Okay,"
