Chapter 20 – Bogged Down
Two and a half days after arriving in Isogeny's orbit, Jerry still hadn't made it into the city limits of Elemental Symmetry. The local Reliants, guided by the Mentarch, had taken up small arms and were making a half-decent attempt at urban warfare. They were all adults; no children were seen, and it was assumed they had been evacuated across the river.
The Agrarians had secured portions of the city and its surroundings, and the Auxilians had set up stations in the Commonwealth-controlled areas so as to better resupply the men with ammunition, treat the wounded, and carry off the dead.
