Nishika’s POV I am Nishika Jain. I am the only daughter to my parents. I have an elder brother Ajith, whom i love dearly. My family owns the business of Indian jewellery head quartered in Mumbai. I have born and bought up in Mumbai. But due to some Personal issues, I was sent here to Belgaum to complete education. Being from the rich family, people might think that I have got free reign to do as I please. But they are mistaken. My dad Mukesh Jain is known to be very strict when it comes to his children and their up bringing. Even thought he is busy with his business; he makes sure to keep tabs on our life. He is a hands on dad. I only wish that for once he would also show us his loving and caring side which my mom believes he does. In all these seventeen years of my life, dad hardly showed his emotional or caring side to us. I don’t blame him, for his upbringing has made him who he is today. As for my mom, Anwesha, she is the best mom could ask for in this world. She is supportive, loving, caring and understands. She makes life easy. It was so hard for me to come here, to Belgaum, all the way from Mumbai, but I had too. Now here I am in my 2nd year P.U.C. I have taken Commerce as my stream course as I wanted to purse Chartered Accountant Course further on. Dad has brought a bungalow for me in Hanuman Nagar. A place known for elite people. The area is so silent. The neighbors don’t bother with who is coming and going. Basically it is safe. The bungalow comes with a two-car garage. This home is gorgeously designed with practical living in mind. The designer kitchen boasts an oversized island and spectacular amenities. I can also release in the spacious and perfectly landscaped backyard with room for pool and outdoor activities. It offers 3 master bedrooms and two guest rooms. I was a little apprehensive about staying here alone for one whole year. So, mom suggested to take the housekeeper aunt Shamita with me, who will look after all my needs. And, because I won’t feel alone. While dad had redecorated the whole bungalow, he had said that occasionally he would come and stay here as his elder sister stays in Belgaum. I had no problem until then, but once I realized that I am going to stay here, I was so not ready but there was no other option available, and I packed my bags and come here. I was five days early before my actual classes starts. As dad had influences, he had transferred me to this K.L.I college which is best in Belgaum. Today is my first day and I was nervous on their first day at college. On top of that I had total change as I don’t know anyone here. It will take time till I make friends. But it is not impossible. With that positive thought in my mind, I woke up and had a long and relaxing shower which will relax my tense muscles. After the long shower I wore my blue kurta with white leggings. I decided to be a bit formal on my first day. My hairs were naturally straight, so I had to do much, I combed my hair and used a clip to hold half potion on my hair. I left a single strand at the front. I then applied minimal make-up with light pink shade lipstick. I wore my blue colour flat sandals and I was ready for the day. Collecting my bag with my cellphone, I walk out of the room and downstairs Shamita aunty has already prepared my breakfast. “Good Morning Nishu beta. Your breakfast is ready says aunty once I am in the dinning area. Smiling at her, I reply “Thank you, aunty. I am already starving”. As a vegetarian being Jain there was typical Jain breakfast laid out for me. There was moong dal Dhokla with sweet chatni, veg sandwich, coffee, and fruits, “Come and join me aunty I invite her. Shamita aunty has been taking care of us since childhood. She is like a family. Once she joined me for breakfast, us have it together. After that I bid her bye and left for my first day with her wishes. Mom had called prior to breakfast and wished me the best as well. Shaam uncle, our driver, who also happens to be the husband of Shamita aunty was waiting fir me with the car door open. Once I am seated inside, he closes the door and gets in the driver’s seat. The traffic here is lesser than that of Mumbai’s. That is why we were able to reach the college in fifteen minutes time. Once I walk inside after showing my identity card to the guard, he allows me entry through the college gates. Only then did Shaam uncle drive away seeing I am safely inside. It was dad’s order after all. The college had a big round playground overlooking the main road on one side and the college on another side. I walk the long pathway and go to the administrative office to collect my timetable. The K.L.I college offers courses like Commerce, Science and Arts along with degree courses like bachelor’s in science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Computer Application. The Hostels were in the campus as well. It had two Canteens. The hostels were one for girl and one for boys. As I was waiting for my schedule from the clerk, a girl around my age comes and stands beside. When I look at her, she greets me. “Hi, I am Varsha Bansal.” I smile at her and reply “Hi, I am Nishika Jain”. “Are you new here?” She inquires with a curious look.  Giving her a nod, I reply “I am”. “Oh, Welcome. Where are you from?” She is an extrovert, I observed about her personality. “From Mumbai” her eyes widened at my reply. “Why did you come here from all the way there when there are best colleges in Mumbai?” I shrug my shoulder “I needed a change” was all I replied.  “Oh” her mouth forms an O. “Nishika Jain, here is your schedule. All the best” says the clerk with a stern yet polite nod my way. “Thank You, Mrs. Patil” I reply while collecting my schedule. Varsha also does the same. After that we walk out of the administrative office. We reach the class. Varsha was chatting nonstop, and I was replying every now and then. I was taking out my cell phone from the bag, and as I was not looking forward, I collided with someone. My things fell on the floor and so did I. There was laughter around. “I am so sorry” says a guy in a hurried tone. “It’s okay” I nod at him as he looked apologetic. I was embarrassed as other students were still laughing. The guy helps me collect my things along with Varsha. I thank him and watch as he walks away near his friends. The same group who was laughing at me. That is when my eyes connect with a pair of brown eyes. The guy was staring at me with a smirk on his face. It did not sit well with me. He is wearing a red color t shirt with blue denim. He has the looks like any other playboy who thinks that it easy to get every girl. I better stay clear of him. Ignoring him, I walk and settle on the third bench which was not occupied. Unfortunately, the guy who was staring at me settled behind me. The lecturer came and first class was a language class, that was English. The lecturer introduced me to the whole class, some were good and welcoming. Some were least interested. After that the class started. Throughout the whole class, I could feel his stare on me, which I ignored. I focused on my class and took notes. The next class was continuing here itself.    So, we did not need to change it. It was a Hindi class again a language class. We had in total six subjects. English, Hindi, Accountancy, Statistics, Business Studies, Economics etc. And another extracurricular subject were Physical education and computer education. For the next Subject we changed the class, that was Economics. In this class, even the Arts students joined us as they had the same subject. Thankfully this time around, I was no where near that guy. The whole week pass by. I was adjusting well here except for the guy Nishant, whose name I found out by my new friend Varsha. All throughout the week, he tried hard to get my attention. But so far, I have succeeded in ignoring him. Being the playboy as he known to be, he does not live a chance to make conversation with me. Nishant is someone who does not like to be ignored, as he was not liking my ignorance towards him one bit. My new friend Varsha, says that every girl wants to have him as their bf and how am I immune to his charms? I had shrugged my shoulder and replied, “I have no time for his playboy ways.” To which she had warned me saying “Because, for some reason he has set his eyes on you and he always gets what he wants”. Even though I tried to act nonchalant about it, it still got me nervous around him. Only a week passed, and he has irritated me non-stop. I don’t even want to imagine how the rest of the year will go if he will be this persistent. I just hope that I will be immune to his charm and ways which he will no doubt apply on me. Nishant POV I am Nishant Maheshwari. I am the younger son of Anuradha and Adarsh Maheshwari. Being from the rich family and being the younger son people might think that I’m spoiled brat. But they are so wrong. My parents always made sure to give me the best but they also taught me to respect what we have and earn for it. They fulfilled all my wishes but never allowed me to take anything for granted. I am grateful to have such wonderful parents. They thought me the right ways to lead life. Everything cannot be perfect even I have my share of flaws. Once I make friends, I can do anything for them. But once you get on my bad side, no one can save you from my wrath. I have short temper. I try to control and tame it just to avoid conflicts. Our family is in construction business. My elder brother Ajay leads it with my dad’s guidance and by his smart mind, he has made us one of the best construction business in our city. Dad is proud of him. Now it is time for me to prove myself. I am just eighteen years old and the pressure is too much. I had wanted to take commerce stream so that I can do Chartered accountant course in the future which not only help my career but also our business. Dad agreed but was doubtful if whether I will clear it as he knows about my playboy ways. I have the best parent I could ever ask for. A best friend who is also my childhood friend and a friend Neha who has supported me during tough times. I just need to prove myself and make dad feel proud. I also have an elder sister. Her name is Kiara. She is right now in Mumbai staying with my elder brother as he handles the business there. And dad looks after the projects here in Belgaum. I groan out loud thinking of the consequence if I take a wrong step, I don’t want to disappoint my parents. “I see someone is having a bad day”. says my best friend Abhay entering my room. I raise my head from the bed and look at him. “Woah man what’s the matter you look like you haven’t had a wink of sleep” he states. I narrate the whole incident about dad’s ultimatum wanting me to stay clear of any relationship and that he does not want to hear any wrong behavior from me. Also, that if I fail to clear the stream with good marks, I should take science and I won’t be having any say in it. “Oh Ho” He lets out chuckle. “Seriously man uncle gave it best start ha” He says laughing. Giving him an angry look “If you don’t have any good advice then get lost don’t waste my time.” “chill bro, if I won’t help you than who will?” He gives me a smirk. I threw the pen cap at him and give him a sarcastic smile. “Aww man what was that for”. He says rubbing his forehead where the cap hit him. “No need. I will see it myself” I answer him. “fine have it your way” he tells me. Abhay my bf left has always been the man of few words. He is known for his joking nature, always friendly. He has done so much for me. Always helped me with my anger issues. We both understand each other well, our actions speak louder than words. We have many things in common. We both are kind of serious. I don’t do relationship as I don’t trust in love. “So, what are your plans for this weekend” he asks and snaps his fingers in front of me. I come out of my thinking zone. “Yeah” I ask looking confused. “I asked what are your plans for this weekend” “Nothing. Monday our classes starts, and I don’t have any plan” I tell him. “I have to thank uncle for this” he murmurs to himself. “I heard that” I tells him with a raise brow. “Nothing man you carry on I need to go”, saying that he escapes in hurry. Shaking my head at him, I just watch some television to pass my time. I will  definitely clear this stream with good marks. Now, all of it comes to my playboy ways. I just have to make sure that nothing reaches to my dad. I smirk to myself and pass my time.
