Chapter 6

1292 Words

Chapter 6Trudging towards the house, his laptop hung in a bag on his shoulder and pulling his case behind him, Gregg sighed with relief at the sight of the front door. Fumbling for his keys, he then let himself into the sprawling ranch. His intention was to head directly to the small wing he’d selected as his. He was so tired that all he wanted was his bed. The last thing he wanted was to face his father and give a detailed account of how things had gone. He stifled a groan when his mother appeared at the top of the wide staircase before he even got halfway across the spacious entrance hall. “Gregg, darling, you’re back. How wonderful.” The moment she saw him she called out to him, hurried down the stairs, and ran over to him. She embraced him delicately and pressed a kiss to his cheeks.
