MARKED BY A DRAGON

Seriously, a Ring?

Andre was about to open the door when he heard two voices from Rui’s room. He was kinda sure who might those be. He took off his sunglasses before going inside.

“Oh, come on… I know you want to be my friend and-”

“Friend?!” CL hissed. “And what makes you think that I want to be your friend?!”

“Oh, so…you prefer to be my girlfriend then?” Nale chuckled which earned him a hard punch on his face.

“Argh!” he grunted in pain. “You ugly pig! You’ll gonna pay for this!”

But CL was more ignited when she heard him say the PIG word. Her eyes squinted as she kept on advancing to Nale and was about to yanked him with her killer high heel. But she was suddenly lifted up in the air with someone’s arms wrapped around her waist. Her cheeky eyes went round just like an innocent girl.

“Stop the crap, you two.” A deep voice interfered while carefully landing CL on the couch.

CL looked up to Tre, still frozen. No one had ever touched her like that! And this thundered voice fellow just easily wrapped his filthy hands to her waist!! TO HER WAIST!

“HOW DARE YOU TOUCHED ME LIKE THAT?!” CL stood up and faced Tre poking one of her fingernail to his chest.

Mia stood up and joined CL. She was glaring to the Black boys as if she just saw the most disgusting view of her life. 

“Hey, we come in peace.” Dex butted in.

“Shut up!” little Mia snapped. Dex fell silent, pouting.

“Look, we are here to see Rui. And besides, why don’t we have negotiation?” Andre sat on the couch and rested both of his hands behind his head.

All heads turned to him, waiting.

“I say, you girls  of Spades, should make friends with us, the Black. By that, we’ll merge the ground zero to our YG underground arena… what do you think?”

“Hell no!!!” the Spades chorused.

“Never!” CL burst.

“Infinitely never!” Mia seconded.

“Don’t you think you’re over reacting?!” Nale exclaimed. “Sheesh! You both playing hard to get.”

Tre reached Nale and shut his mouth. But It was too late. The Spades, with daggers on their hands started to charge in one direction. Eyes ignited  with much flame. The mafia girls were so pissed by now.

“Girls.” RJ finally broke in.

CL and Mia halted all at once and stood straight facing the dragon.

“Mianhe.” Both chorused bowing slightly.

The Black on the other hand, was silently thanking Rui for suddenly crossing in.

RJ heaved a deep breath after thinking for some things. “These guys are with us. So we should take care of our allies.” 

Tre nodded animatedly, so as the other Black boys.

“RJ, these are the YG!” CL burst. She couldn’t forget how YG  dragged their ground zero  into the pit. She just can’t mixed with these people of YG.

Nale smirked. “You’re just afraid of us.”

The lioness snappily whipped her head to Nale.

“We, from Ground Zero, are not afraid of anything. You hear me?” CL growled.

“I presume you’re scared?” he said quite confident.

“What?” CL ghastly asked.

“You’re not hitting the right tone, boy.” Mia dangerously caressed the dagger on her hands. She can’t kept quite especially that it involved her leader.

Dex gave a shudder with the view. He wanted to run away from Rui’s room now. These two ladies were so plain cold and merciless. No wonder they were Rui’s minions.

  “Andre…” Dex turned to Andre who seemed to be quite. He wanted to ask for a support. He badly needed him or anyone now but he was astonished by how his man stared at the two aggressive ladies. He was as if seeing his own death.

Tre yanked the magazine on Nale as he saw the dagger on CL’s hand again.

“Ouch!” Nale turned to Tre with a puppy eyes.

”SHUT UP.” Tre said with gritted teeth then sweetly smiled at CL. “He’s just insane, you know.”

“No, I’m not!” Nale whined.

“Better watch your babies or I’ll rip ‘em off.” CL said, glaring.

“Cynthia, stop the crap.” RJ ordered.

“Yes.”  CL abruptly got near to RJ bowing with pure respect of the man. Mia followed hiding the dagger inside of her clothes.

‘How the hell those weapons escaped from the inspection?’ Tre thought wiping his sweat on the forehead.

“Obedient cats.”

Tre heard Nale murmured to himself. He could have died in heart attack because of these kids.

“You boys should go first…we have business to discuss.” Rui  said in his casual voice.

The Black immediately stood up and left the room. Nale on the other hand, stopped in front of Cynthia and stuck his tongue and ran first on the door.

“Why you!”

They heard CL was ranting inside the room but it was then stopped with RJ. Tsk! They really were obedient to him. They almost worship him the way the Spades responded to his every words.

CL’S POV

AM HELLA PISSED NOW!

I swear I could have killed those Black dudes if not for the presence of our master. Surely one day, I’m going to assassinate those men especially the kid name Nale. After this business with master, am gonna put his name to our black list. 

I gawked at the door tempted to go after those badass dudes and plant the dagger on their heads. It will be my greatest pleasure to torture that Nale boy before am going to end his ordeal. Yes I’m gonna make him beg for his death!

“CL, how’s the Ground Zero?” I heard master asked which snapped me from my own murderous world.

“We’ve closed the deal with the Asian investors.” Mia answered instead and then turned to my direction.

I slightly straightened up myself. “We had our short discussion with our new investors, by next month, they will come to see you.”

He just nodded but I noticed his restlessness.

We discussed more about the current events; mostly focused on G.Z then to his father’s business. I caught him heaved a deep breath countless times then he would whipped his head to the door.

“Something wrong?” I asked

“Should I call the doctor now? I’ve heard you have had migraine attacks.” Mia stood up a little bit alarm.

“No need.” He said with finality while resting his head on the bed’s headboard.

Mia and I stared at Rui for a moment. Maybe he was just tired and we weren’t thoughtful enough while interjecting all the what-not about G.Z. and some businesses outside.

“You need rest.” I announced then grabbed my sling bag and signal Mia to grab her things also. We were leaving for now.

After a moment,

“Tell me, would you like it if someone give you something?” I heard him ask. But to whom? Mia and I exchanged glances then she nodded urging me to answer the question.

“If it means a lot, then I’ll accept it. It doesn’t matter if it’s expensive or not. It’s the thought that counts after all.” I sincerely responded to him.

But why was he being weird asking us about it?

“What if it’s a ring?” he sat on the edge of his bed facing us.

“A ring?” Mia asked befuddled as me. “Do you…er…want to tie somebody?”

I waited for his response. We waited. Then a soft smile was playing on his lips.

“Is that the meaning of it?” he asked quite amused with the idea. He looked up resting both hands on his bed while having the smirked draw on his lips. I know that picture. Something was really running to his head now.

“You wanna tie somebody with you, Rui?” I incredulously asked. So what I’ve heard from Philine wasn’t a prank after all. Our master wasn’t playing with this girl, was he? He must be serious to come up with the idea of making the girl his forever. Did I just say forever?

Oh, man.

“And I thought somebody is just shitting on me when she told me about you having a girl now!” I exclaimed much to my surprise.

“I’ve heard it too…” Mia confirmed looking at me. 

She then glanced at Rui. “Where is she now? Can we meet her?”

Mia was sure too excited. And frankly, I’m getting this excitement build up within me. I’m somehow curious who might this girl be.

“You sure are spying on me?” he tried to sound casual but he failed. I can see his hidden smile now. I wanna meet the girl this instant. How can she paint that smile on his face even without her presence. I noticed his changes also.

Why the hell didn’t I notice it? He wasn’t shouting anymore. Black and Spades were fighting a while ago but he seemed to be ignoring us, shouting our heart out before his presence. He used to be ill-tempered before and he can’t possibly tolerate somebody fighting like hell before him. You will never go unpunished if you dare do that. I could see his gentle features very pellucid on his face.

I grinned unknowingly so as Mia. We kinda get the idea now.

NURSE’S POV

 One day and a half passed…

RJ’s status:

 Pissed, restless, and worst, having his migraine attack.

Where the hell was baby girl?! I need her now! The dragon was  so frantic with her absence!

We were having our great ordeal here trying to appease the raging beast. We couldn’t calm him now. He was like a mad man, I swear.

“s**t with this head!” I heard the dragon muttered under his breath then went banging his on the bed’s headboard. I know that migraine could be this severe. But why can’t he just take the medication?

His doctors, two of them,were trying to restrain him but oh well, they were sent a meter away from him. Hmm… this was usual… at least for me. Then the dragon sat pulling a handful of his hair. His lips twitched in pain.

“M-master at least the medicine can lessen down the pain…” I stammered. The two doctors were literally staring at me like they were planning to give me a monument for bravely speaking to the dragon.

“No... I… NEED HER HERE.” He spoke between gritted teeth. He had been acting like a child trying to refuse to take his medicine..

I can’t stop myself but giddily smile. Can’t he tell that he was getting obvious about his emotions everyday?

The two doctors exchanged glances somehow puzzled for a moment because of me smiling to our master. They just don’t know who he was referring to.

Just before the doctors can spit other pleading words to our master, the door opened.

Baby girl.

I’m quite confident that RJ felt her presence in the room but he didn’t bother to look up or call her just like he usually do.

“Er…Ji?” she looked at me quite certain that something was amiss. The room was eerily silent that I could tell that the doctors seemed like to be suffocated with the sudden change of temperature in the room.

I pushed them outside with me before they gonna collapsed inside, of course leaving the girl behind with the dragon..

“We should get the girl out of there!”  Doctor Lee exclaimed,  there’s a sound of concern in his voice. I kind of understand him but I’m pretty confident that she’ll be fine.

“We should let them be. She’s his medicine, anyway.” I winked at the two and left them still hesitant to leave the girl.
