When Ara entered the flat, Emyr was closely behind. He felt something sinister in the air. His ears heard voices whispering.
'You must convince her! Ara is a good material for the movie!'
'But she won't budge! She is such a goody-goody girl!'
'Then give her this. Mix this in her coffee or juice!'
'Ara is too careful! I never saw her drink with me or with any of the girls at the office!'
'Make her drink! Or else I won't give any of this!'
'No! That's mine! I paid for it!'
'Yes! You paid for it but I will make you pay if Ara isn't at the film I'm making!'
Emyr decided to be an observer. He stepped aside and blended with the dark red curtains.
Ara entered the room at the far corner. The light was dim when she opened the narrow door. It was exactly two minutes when she went out.
The standard-sized door opened on the next room and Jo's head popped out.
"Hey, Ara! Where are you going?" Jo was wearing a rumpled nightshirt.
Ara was lugging a large backpack and a toiletry bag. She stopped at the center of the flat, between the dining table for two and an old couch.
"Oh, Jo... I decided to find a new place."
"What? After all I've done for you?" Jo was shocked and worried.
"Don't worry, I'll transfer the amount of my advance rent for next month." Ara started walking again.
"Wait! Um, why don't we have a cup of coffee? Or juice? For old times' sake?"
While Ara was hesitating, Jo started to pour a carton of orange juice to two small glasses. She was turned away from Ara and her body hid what she was doing but Emyr saw her shook out the contents of a small plastic into the juice. It was a transparent powder.
"Here! Cheers for a new place!" Jo forced the glass into Ara's hand and shouted with a bit of envy in her voice.
Ara raised her glass. "Thank you, Jo. For all the things that you did for me. I am grateful."
"Yes, Ara. I'll miss you."
"I doubt it." Ara gave a fleeting smile before she sipped at her glass.
"Hey, drink it all! I bought the juice!"
"Okay." Ara drank the small glass of juice up to the last drop.
The drug had a fast effect. Ara was swaying by time she put down the glass on the table.
Emyr gritted his teeth. He wanted to smash his fists to whoever instructed Jo to drug Ara. He was taking a video using his cellphone.
But he had to wait...
"Ungh... I'm feeling dizzy!" Ara moaned while her hand touched her head.
"Oh, come here! Lie on the couch!" Jo was pretentiously concerned. "Onin, please, help us!"
A big dark man appeared from the room. He was fortyish and had bloodshot eyes. He was carrying a small video camera. His face was leery and his slobbering was obvious.
"Good girl, good job!"
Jo preened and wrapped herself around the muscular body of the tall man. "Kiss your good girl!"
Emyr sent a text to his bodyguards using his watch. 'Call the police. Quick!'
"I have your goodies in the room, goody girl!" He gave her butt a light s***k. "But for now, hold this cam while I undress her!"
'No!' Emyr's face was contorted with fury. His nostrils distended and blew a stream of hot air towards the filthy hands of the dark man. He had hard time containing his desire to transform!
"Ouch!" Onin turned left and right. "Is your heater on?"
"I don't have a heater! What's wrong?"
"Look! My hands are scalded! Do you have toothpaste or ice?" Onin shouted when he saw his arms were blistered, too. "Aah, my arms! Call a doctor! Call an ambulance!"
"No, no, no! What about the goodies! They will find it! Let me treat you with some ice!" Jo ran to the refrigerator. "Oh, no ice! Wait! I have some toothpaste!" She ran to the bathroom and got the tube which was already flat.
"Dammit! I said call an ambulance! The goodies are safe!"
"Okay! Okay!" Jo had a hard time looking for her cellphone. And charger. "I need to charge first! My cp's low-bat!" she shrieked her panic.
"Aah, my arms are burning!" Onin cried like a baby.
Emyr pressed the signal button on his watch. In less than a minute, the door was forcibly opened.
His two bodyguards entered with guns in their hands.
"Hands up! You two!"
"W-wha--Ouch! Ouch! Aah!" Onin screamed in pain when his hands were handcuffed.
Emyr emerged from the curtains. Jo watched him with wide eyes and wide-opened mouth.
"You! What are you doing here?" She was shocked because she recognized him as the CEO of the 'Dragon Company.'
"You will leave the company quietly. No side comments alluding Miss Gray," Emyr articulated evenly. "In exchange to your silence, you shall be provided with a lawyer to help get you out of prison. Understand?"
"Y-yes, sir..." At the mention of prison, Jo turned white and trembling.
He carried the unconscious Ara in his arms. While he was leaving, a team of policemen had arrived. The bodyguard, who carted her backpack and bag, followed behind. The other bodyguard was left in the flat.
"Tell Bogart to file cases against those two. They are involved in p**n and drugs. The 'goodies' are inside the room. Tell him he must supervise the search!"
"Yes, sir!"
The three black cars departed at the same time.
When they arrived at the mansion, only one car went inside the roofed driveway.
"Is the white suite ready, Mrs. Cleeve?"
"We prepared it the moment you texted us, sir," the housekeeper informed him calmly. Her hands were folded against her crisp white apron.
"And the office she will be using?"
"Clean and ready, sir."
They reached the suite of rooms. He appreciated the flawlessness of the surroundings. There were statues of dragons in every corner here. Inside the bedroom, the king-sized bed was covered with white bedsheet.
Emyr laid her carefully on the soft mattress.
"Get some towel and hot water, Mrs. Cleeve," he instructed the housekeeper.
When he was alone with Ara, his eyes changed color from black to blue as he traced her throat. The drug was not ingested fully by her system. His eyes sucked the liquid with the drug. The tainted fluid separated from her brain.
The towel was delivered on time. Orange liquid gushed out of Ara's mouth.
He supported her when she sat up and gave a coughing fit. Emyr rubbed her back gently.
The good old Mrs. Cleeve offered her a cup of hot tea.
"I'll drink this first," Emyr sipped the tea. "Have some," he offered the cup to Ara's lips.
