Chapter 8

”I.. will you?” She looked at him for comfort and he was giving it to her.

”Of course I will, just pick a song and I’ll do it.” He smiled at her making her smile back.

”I might consider doing it. ’Blinding light’, do you know it?”

”Yeah, The weeknd. I’ll let the Dj know what to play. Be right back.” He waited for her nod until he let go of her and walked away.

Okay Sasha, breath! You can do this, you’re not alone. Luke is gonna be there the entire time. This is your time to shine, take it! She told herself as she started pacing again. Luke came back with two microphones and handed her one of them.

”You ready?” He asked.

”I don’t really have a choice do I?” She looked at him again.

”Not really.” He smiled and took her hand in his and giving it a small squeeze. 

On the other side of the curtain she heard Paul taking the stage again.

”So we got another treat for you tonight and she is so talented. So give it up for the beautiful Sasha Harris!!” He said into the mic and waited for her to get out there. Luke looked at her and without words he told her that it was going to be okay and with that she walked out with Luke behind her.

”Hey guys, so I hope you don’t mind but I decided to get some help from Luke here.” The crowed scream for them and she felt the energy fill her body.

Once the music started to play all of the nerves she felt back stage went away. She could do this. She looked over at Luke before smiling and putting the mic to her lips.

”I been tryna call

I been on my own for long enough

Maybe you can show me how to love, maybe” She started off the song and then Luke took over the rest of the verse.

”I'm going through withdrawals

You don't even have to do too much

You can turn me on with just a touch, baby” The look he was giving her was nothing but innocent, she just hoped that no one else noticed. Not their parents and not Charlie. They went into the chorus  together.

”I look around and Sin City's cold and empty (oh)

It all had passed Sasha by in such a blur, it just came so natural to her. This had always been a dream of hers and now, thanks to Luke, she was one step closer to it.

”Sasha Harris everybody!” He yelled into the mic before getting of the stage, leaving Sasha there all alone.

”Thank you guys so much! Wow, that just felt amazing, I gotta tell you that I was so nervous back there cause I just found out that my crazy bunch of family and friends had planned this whole thing for a while and.. I was ready to kill them right then and there but now that I done it it feels so good!!” The crowd cheered with her. ”So I have this other song that I think you guys would like. Do you wanna hear it?” The club just screamed back at her, letting her know to play the song. She looked around stage to find what she was looking for. She ran across stage to Paul to ask for his help. He got up and moved the piano center stage for her. She thanked him before she sat down and started to play.

She was standing there looking out at everyone and realized that this is where she wanted to be for the rest of her life, on stage and singing her heart out. She could feel her heart beating like crazy and the adrenalin was pump like never before when she walked backstage. 

”I told you that you would be amazing!!” Luke said and pulled her into a hug and spun her around a couple of times before slowly putting her down again. He kept her close to him as he did it and her face ended up just an inch away from his. ”You were truly amazing” he whispered to her and she got a shiver down to her bones from his breath on her skin.

”Thank you” she whispered back as she started to lean in. She didn’t care anymore, she had done something she never thought she would do and now she just let it all go. No more worries, no more sad faces. This was her life and she is the only one in charge of it.

”Oh, you’ve gotta be kidding me!” Charlie’s voice broke the silence in the room and the two quickly broke apart.

”Charlie, I can explain!” Sasha didn’t even believe her own words, how was she gonna explain that. Yes, she was about to kiss her future brother and yes they have done it before. Not to mention all the times she wanted to kiss him, or touch him or just be near him.

”First of all, I don’t need an explanation. Second, I need him to get out of here.” He stood his ground and had his eyes pierced on Luke waiting for him to leave.

”I’m not leaving.” Luke simply said, he was not leaving either.

”Luke it’s okay, I’ve got it.” She tried to reassure him without any luck.

”I’m not going anywhere, so if you wanna talk. Let’s talk.” He said and got all up in Charlie’s face.

”Just leave my girl alone, okay!” He demanded as he got even closer to Luke.

”Guys stop it!” She yelled trying to get their attention but failed.

Charlie delivered the first punch and after that everything moved so fast. One second Charlie was up against the wall and the other Luke was on the floor with Charlie over him delivered punch after punch. Sasha tried to pull Charlie off of him but didn’t get far until things were reversed and Luke was the one doing the punching. She couldn’t hold the tears back anymore the stream down her cheeks as she yelled at the guys to stop. It took a few minutes until someone came backstage and pulled them apart. Sasha thanked god when she saw it was Liam that had pulled Luke away from Charlie who was still on the floor. Mel came running to her side.

”Are you okay? What happened?” She was so worried and checked her friend for possible wounds.

”I’m fine. It just happened, I tried to stop them but.. but.” Mel knew how hard she had it with people fighting and this couldn’t have been easy for her.

”It’s okay now, everything’s fine.” She stroked her hair.

Charlie had finally gotten to his feet and Luke had started to calm down for once.

”I can’t do this Sasha. Me or him?” He said as he drew his finger over his lip to try and find the source of the bleeding. Sasha just stood there in shock, he was actually making her choose between them. She took a deep breath, this wasn’t a hard decision at all.

”Don’t make me choose..” She said with tears in her eyes.

”Because what? You’ll choose him?” He knew the answer but he needed to hear her say it.

”Yes I would! Is that what you wanna hear?! I’ll always choose him!” She yelled out, feeling the tears run down her face.

”No, but it’s what I needed..” He said and walked away.

Sasha just stood there, it felt like she had no energy felt in her body. She was surprised that she was still breathing. She didn’t see that Luke walked up to her but she could feel it, he got her in his arms and just held her. To her it felt like only seconds but once they broke apart she noticed that neither Mel or Liam were there.

”I sent them back out there about ten minutes ago so Laura wouldn’t start to freak out and thinking that you’ve been kidnapped.” He said and just the sound of his voice calmed her down.

”I’m sorry about all of that.” Sasha apologized and looked up at him.

”It’s not your fault, I shouldn’t have..” He trailed off once he realized that they were dangerously close again so he pulled away little bit more. ”tried to.. do that.” The word kiss was too hard for him to say right now.

”It wasn’t all your fault, I didn’t exactly pulled away Luke.” After that it got silent for a little while. Things were never going to go back to nothing after this day. All the teasing and playing with each others feelings was not possible anymore, not after that fight and confession.

”Ready to get back out there?” Luke asked.

”I think so..” She said and Luke let her go and started to walk out before he stopped and turned around to her again.

”Did you really mean what you said? About choosing me?” He held her hands in his and looked into her eyes.

”You’re my friend Luke, I wouldn’t just throw that away.” She said, not wanting to tell the truth and do what she actually wanted to do, kiss him. So she just walked past him out to the club. There was no denying it any longer, he truly had feelings for Sasha and would probably do anything for her at this moment. He took a breath before walked off after her. They walked to the rest of the group and they knew that something had happened but not all of them knew what it was exactly.

”You were so good honey!!! I’m so proud of you!” Laura exclaim and hugged her daughter tightly.

”I was seriously surprise Sasha, you were great” Liam said giving her a sweet smile, letting her know that he was being honest.

”I told you that you were awesome, you just had to be tricked into it.” Mel said with a smile before she pulled her in for another hug.

”Thank you guys, it means so much that you liked it.” She said and could help the but to blush when Luke put his arm around her as a hug for a few seconds, letting her know that he was just by her side. ”I don’t wanna be a buzz kill but I’m really tired and wouldn’t mind going back home.” She said with a sweet smile.

”Sure, you kids can take the car and Laura and I can just stay here tonight and then maybe we could all go out for brunch tomorrow? You guys too.” He said and gestured to Mel and Liam.

”Sounds good, Rumor at eleven?” Mel and Liam nodded in agreement.

”Perfect.” Paul said before they all said their goodbyes and gave all the hugs they were gonna give.

Once they were about to walk out of the club a man in a suit stopped them and started to talk to Luke.

”Hi Luke, you did amazing tonight.” The man said, he was tall and looked important enough for the other three to stand quietly to the side.

”Thanks David, I’m glad you liked it.” Luke said with a smile.

”You both were great tonight actually.” David said once he saw Sasha standing next to Luke.

”Thanks.” Sasha blushed at David’s words.

”Oh, I forgot that only Luke knows me. Sorry about that. I work at StarRecords.” Sasha almost lost her breath at that point. ”We’ve been working with Luke for a while now and we would love to talk to the two of you sometime this week. Luke has the number so just call and set a time.” He said before he excused himself and walked away.

”Wait.. Did that just happen?” Sasha asked confused at what had just happened.
