First Day

10.15.15/ 08:47 PM   Hello there, MyLabs! How’s your day? I hope you’re always doing fine. Well, I had a great day today. It may not be a perfect day but it ended well. I hope you feel the same way too. This time, I want to share with you how happy I am today. I feel like everything has been paid off. All the pain, the struggles, the arguments with my dad, all the painful words I ate up from my dad, all the doubts and discouragement I’ve felt up to this day, it feels like it was all worth it. Isn’t it obvious how ecstatic I am right now? Well, I wouldn’t mind about it anymore. I will just cherish this moment and enjoy this feeling of mine. How I wish I could run to you right now and hug you tightly. And it would be better if I could celebrate this special moment with you. But I’m pretty sure that there will be more special occasions that I might celebrate with you in the near future, right? So here’s the good news, I’m OFFICIALY HIRED! Woooh~ I can’t imagine this day would come. For some, it is as simple as changing clothes whenever they want to have a career shift but not me. Because I, I have to exert extra effort to achieve what I want. For some, they might say that why am I having a hard time finding a job when in fact, I am an honor graduate. And hundreds of malicious doubts flashed in. They talk as if they really know and as if they have witnessed what I’ve been going through; easier said than done. But despite all of this, I am finally working for the job that I’ve been aiming for. A job that I attain through my own sweat and effort, without any recommendation or help of other people. It feels way better to achieve something when you work hard for it. I am so grateful that I’ll start working on Wednesday as a Production Coordinator. Ever since our practicum, I was assigned to be the Production Manager of the team. I preferred doing tasks that requires labor rather than those which requires a lot of brainstorming. I prefer doing routinely jobs than stuff that is full of dynamics. I don't know if it's just me or what but I preferred staying in my comfort zone. Maybe I'm just simply not an adventurous one. However, the journey going there was quite not that simple. I fell asleep on someone’s shoulder for I guess, about an hour or two. But I’m still thankful that he didn’t take advantage of me while I’m having a deep sleep. Instead, he endured the inconvenience I made at him and just stretched out his arm, holding onto the chair in front of us. How embarrassing, isn’t it? So do you know what did I do? I desperately pressed the buzzer and luckily, the bus stops right in front of the bus stop where I need to get off. Fortunately, it’s not his bus stop. I wasn’t able to thank him for the convenience he provides for that short period of time. But, what if, you’re the one who I sit with a while ago? My gally~ It will be so romantic~ Fate/destiny/serendipity or coincidence, whatever it may be, they never fail to make me fantasize about you. I’m going crazy, really. I can’t even forget the beautiful smile of that guy whom I ask for the direction. He’s kind a bit weird but I can’t deny the fact that his smile captivates my attention. But it’s such a waste to think about someone who looks weird. Whatever. Anyway, I have to say goodnight already to you, Mylabs. I have to wake up early in the morning for the requirements I need to submit on Wednesday. Please always take care and keep pushing for your dream. You are not allowed to get sick or hurt without my permission, okay?! Hoping to see you soonest. Lovelots. =============== WEDNESDAY..   The phone alarm rings. It's 4am in the morning. I should woke up and get out of the bed early so I can leave the house without rushing too much. Fortunately, they allow us to wear casual clothes so I don't have to suffer from walking using my pointed high heels. Not to mention the difficulty of tucking in my blouse in my pencil cut skirt that squeezes my tummy. I feel so free wearing this polo shirt, denim pants and a high cut converse. A cup of coffee will do to warm my tummy. I'm not used to eating breakfast early in the morning. Of course, a lightweight make-up shouldn't be left behind. A no-make-up make-up look will do. Putting some moisturizer and sunscreen for the base, a little bit of bb cream for a smoother-looking skin, eyebrows, tight lining my eye line, curled my lashes then put some mascara, a little bit of warm rosy blush for a natural-looking pinkish cheeks and matte pinkish nude for my lips. Spray some face mist all over your face to set everything and voila! Perfect for the first day for work.   Thank God, I was able to sit in the bus and don't need to stand beside the driver. Well, traveling at 5:30AM for an 8AM time-in is not bad at all. Earphones plugged in. This time, I'll make sure that I will not sleep on someone's shoulder. Let's save our face for the sake of self-respect, understand Enzey?! It's time to listen to Mamamoo's Decalcomanie! The rhythm and the tempo drum beat will definitely boost your energy and gives off a good vibe. I've been dancing and jumping all over my head, can't help but to snap my fingers and slightly move my head up and down. And after listening to dozens of upbeat songs throughout the trip, I didn't notice that I am finally arriving to the bus stop where I need to get off. Hopefully, I wouldn't meet that weird guy though.   "Can I have all the requirements you need to submit?" Ms. Stephy said and smiles at me brightly. She looks so fresh and gorgeous, as always. "Yes ma'am. Here." I smiled back at her while giving her my requirements. "So for today, you will be trained for your duties and responsibilities in the factory as Production Coordinator. Have I told you to bring extra shirt?" she asked and looked worried at the same time. I wonder if I'll look the same way even though I will be assigned to the factory. Why would I need an extra shirt? "No, ma'am. May I ask why do I need an extra shirt?" I smiled slightly but deep inside, I'm kind a bit nervous. Or maybe because I want to do a great job on my first day. "Our factory will be at the ground floor. It's not air-conditioned that's why you might get soaked with sweat. It's quite hot in there due to the huge machines. It's well-ventilated but enough to control the heat that was dispersed by the machines." She said. "But your table is at the Production Department, on 2nd floor. And it has air-condition, don't worry." She explained. "You might get sick if you will not change your shirt after doing rounds in the factory." She added. "Ah, okay ma'am. Well noted." I thought I’ll get dirt all over my clothes. What an imagination Enzey!? Better not forget that! You don't want to get sick and be absent on your first week, right? "So let's go down to the factory for your orientation?" I looked at her and couldn't hide my confusion. How come an HR staff will orient me for the production matter personally? Instead of endorsing me to any of the production staff or what? “You may go downstairs and leave with Ms. Stephy. Actually, she is a Quality Control staff but she helps me from time to time because one of the HR staff is on leave for some personal reason. So I asked her to assist you while I’m in the meeting last Monday. My apologies if that causes some confusion on your part.” A pretty looking woman in her early 30’s explained.  “No, it’s okay ma’am.” I replied. So she is Ms. Jeanne. The real HR staff. No wonder her voice sounds familiar. “Let’s go?” Ms. Stephy led the way and the orientation starts.   This company is not what I’ve been expecting, to be honest. The floor and walls are made of wood, a vintage interior I guess. This doesn’t have any elevator, but purely have stairs. Ms. Stephy said that this company was established since early 1950’s, transferred to generations down to the next generation. This is owned by a Chinese family that has settled here in the Philippines. They didn’t change any of the interior design to preserve the tradition and history that was created by their grand grand grandparents. It’s time to visit the factory wherein all the plastic bottles and container has been made. As expected, it was quite huge and dozens of huge machines can be found everywhere. “So for the first row, you can see all the blow molding machines that are in-charge of producing bottles for muriatic acid. These German machines are called Bekum machines. Bekum 1 is in charge of manufacturing a 250ml bottle. It can produce about 1800 pieces for every eight hours. Bekum 3 is for the 1liter bottles and Bekum 5 is for the 500ml.” And the discussions about the machines have continued. All I can do right now is to nod to whatever she says. I can clearly hear everything but I doubt that I can absorb all the information she’s been telling me. “On this side, we have the American injection molding machines called Boy Machines. They are in-charge of producing 250gms & 500gms albatross holders, plugs and caps for bottles and even the different sizes of n*****s for infant’s milk feeding bottle.” Now what, even the n*****s for kids’ feeding bottle has different sizes? Though I don’t fully understand what’s happening right now, I feel quite excited from learning this kind of stuff. As expected, I am meant working in a production set-up rather than sales or marketing. “Can you follow? Or should we take a break?” Stephy asked. Yes, you heard it right. Stephy. We just had an agreement to call each other in a first name basis. To omit the awkwardness between us and be more friendly. “No, I’m okay. But I guess you need a break. It seems like your throat feels so dry right now from talking and explaining.” But instead of taking a break, she just sips some water then the discussions continue. “And for the last part of the factory, these two yellow huge injection molding machines are called MJ812 and MJ861. They are in-charge of pro---- Oh my gosh!” Stephy shouted out of her shock in the middle of discussion. Who would never get shocked when someone just popped out of nowhere? What is he doing right there?! “What are you doing in there?! I thought you were a ghost!” Stephy said while shouting with all her might and hitting that guy’s shoulder. I never thought she could be that loud. “Hi Stephy~ Are you okay? Sorry for startling you. I’m just fixing the MJ128; I don’t know you were there.” He explained while smiling and waving like a retard seal. But that smile, it looks so familiar. Where did I see that smile? Have we ever met before? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that before. “Is she the new Production Coordinator that you have mentioned before?” He added while smiling at me so I just awkwardly smiled back at him. I can smell something’s fishy with this guy. Well, who wouldn’t feel awkward towards this handso---. Wait! Enzey! What were you thinking right now?! Snap it out! “Yes! By the way Enzey, he’s Paul. One of our factory supervisors. You will be seeing them every day early in the morning.” Stephy explained while introducing us with each other. And he extends his hand, waiting for me to grab it for a shake hands. So out of respect, despite of the nervousness in this situation, I reached for his hand when he suddenly… “Oh, I’m sorry! My hands are full of grease while fixing this machine.” Then he smirked at me as if he’s waiting for the perfect timing to pull out his hand to tease me. So this is why I feel something off about him, huh? You flirt!
