Will chuckled next to me. “What, she didn’t fall for your charms straight away?”
I rolled my eyes. Okay, so I hadn’t been a perfect gentleman toward her but I hadn’t said anything terrible, either. This was me. Women loved me.
“I’m just saying. Are we going to have to deal with that the whole night?”
Tyler was on his phone, texting.
“Don’t worry about it,” he said, half distracted. “She’s Becky’s best friend. She’s been around since before we met and she’s really tried to make Becky relax. That’s a big deal.”
I looked out the window. Manhattan at night was lit up like a Christmas tree. Lights twinkled all around us and the streets were busy with cars and pedestrians as if the night meant nothing.
