A cardboard spinner sat between the decks, with pink and red hearts alternating around the edge—and one gold heart. “No game board?” He shook his head. “It’s pretty basic. You spin, and if you land on a pink heart, you pull a card from the corresponding deck, same with red. But if you land on the gold heart, you have to pull from this deck.” Boone held up a third set of cards. “It’s not a win or lose kind of game. It’s supposed to help you grow closer to your lover—and have fun while doing it.” “Lover…” I nearly choked on the word. Boone rolled his eyes. “Companion. Boyfriend. Husband. Whatever.” I guzzled my beer. This was going to be harder than I thought. “So, I’ll start, if that’s okay?” Definitely.
