Monday morning, everything seemed normal. Roane cast a quick look down the line of cars to see if Alden’s truck was back. The other man had been gone when Roane woke up Saturday morning and had not showed up for the rest of the weekend. Last evening, Roane had driven around aimlessly, going to Durango and taking a couple of back roads through the San Juans. He’d gotten back around dark, but there was still no sign of Alden. He wasn’t sure what to think. Now, a bit of relief came when he saw the blue truck back in its usual place.
