Their journey continued. It was a strange experience. To Samuel it felt as if they weren’t moving at all, and as if space around them for several light-years was empty. Yet he knew they were moving extremely quickly, and that space in one particular spot not far enough away was about as far from empty as you could get. Even with the advanced technology of his civilisation, black holes were still mysteries. More of their physics were understood than had been the case centuries before, but more was far from all.
