Beta's Birthday Invite

Colton POV
I hear a knock on the door, and I wash my face and palms, clearing all sign of blood or sweat from my body.
I look myself in the mirror again, my breaths coming at a proper pace now. I am glad, I still have a few days left until all this blow over and I lose everything.
The knock is persistent and I can feel my eyes roll in my head, there is only one human who is that impatient.
I open my door to see my Beta, “You know you can mind link me if you wanna talk”, I say to him being calm. I can’t let him know the inner struggles I am facing, I don’t want anyone to worry, they have been doing that in past years. I am now a grown young man and I will take care of myself.
"I actually was little worried about you since you left the class", he says casually, giving a slap on my back. "I mean since Finals are coming and you shouldn’t miss the class."
I chuckle hearing his excuse. Yeah, he won’t let out the worries he is hiding in his mind, that’s how we guys work, we will support each other without displaying our affection to each other.
"Don’t worry, I think I have already found out a nerd I can always borrow notes from. Anything else you want", I asked in a bit Authoritative tone.
"Yeah since you totally forgot that it’s my birthday tomorrow, I thought about throwing myself a party tonight."
I facepalmed myself, I know I remembered it in the morning, but then I forgot.
"Don’t worry yourself, we will use your Black card to buy drinks", he winks towards me and I jump to my wallet, which already has been pickpocketed by my Beta.
"You Little Dog", was all I could growl, "I have no clue how your mate is going to handle you. Do you think she already saw you and rejected you", I teased him, getting my payback for my card.
He looked towards me in mock horror, keeping a hand on his chest, "How Dare you. She would be delighted to have me as her Mate, I guess I already saw in the cafeteria she was drooling all over me, sitting they are shy with her cute friend."
Before I could help myself, I growl escaped from my mouth “Mine”, but the Beta was already on his way back near the door, will pick you up at 7, and with that, he left, grinning ears to ears
I hope this party will divert my mind from my current situation…
