I left my own office at three thirty that afternoon. Though our buildings were only two blocks away, the distance seemed interminable. I didn’t know whether to rush or dawdle, certainly being late would not do, but I didn’t want to be early either. My stomach was doing flip flops the whole way. When I arrived at his building it was exactly four o’clock. The receptionist in the outer office greeted me and sent me right into Diane’s office just outside Stuart’s door.
