Caroline continued speaking while scanning the distant reporters, trying to present her best angle for the cameras.
As expected, the sound of shutters was incessant, and she felt a surge of joy.
Ryan said with a detached tone, "Nothing wrong with it."
"What?" Caroline didn't catch his words over the rapid clicking of cameras.
Reporters swarmed around them, bombarding them with questions under the bright flashlights.
"Ryan, Caroline, when do you plan to get married?"
"Caroline, do you have the confidence to become the new Mrs. Boston?"
"Ryan, did you divorce because of Caroline?"
The questions grew more intense, but Caroline smiled brightly for the cameras.
Great questions!
As long as the media kept up this narrative, the public would believe she was destined to become Mrs. Boston.
With public support, Ryan would have to take her seriously!
"Mr. Boston, is the reason for Boston Group's failed bid due to inadequate preparation? Any comments?"
The sudden business-related question made Caroline's face stiffen.
She glanced at Ryan, who remained cold-faced, and sighed with relief.
"Ryan, any words for Andrew Ford, who won the bid?"
"Ryan, are you attending Ford Group's celebration to extend an olive branch?"
"Caroline, are you here as the brand ambassador for Boston Jewelry or as Ryan's girlfriend?"
The relentless questions created a bottleneck at the hotel entrance.
Maintaining his composure, Ryan only answered the last question, "Caroline is just my date tonight."
Soon, security managed to disperse the crowd. As he turned to enter the hotel, he suddenly saw a familiar red-haired figure at the entrance.
Scarlett was walking in with Andrew.
Ryan suddenly narrowed his eyes and raised his voice. "I'm here tonight to congratulate Andrew Ford and my ex-wife, Scarlett. Congratulations to her for becoming the General Manager of Ford Group."
The crowd erupted, cameras clicking furiously.
Ryan's ex-wife worked at Ford now?
The reporters instantly connected the dots. While the others didn't care much about the Boston family's marital drama, they had an inside scoop.
Nobody expected Scarlett, the "invisible" housewife, to join Ford Group right after the divorce!
What was this? Betrayal? Falling for the competition?
Ryan's expression turned gloomy as he stared at Scarlett. "I also congratulate my ex-wife on her powerful alliance with the Ford heir. Well done."
Immediately, the reporters shifted their attention to Scarlett and Andrew with newfound intrigue.
Ryan's words almost implied that Andrew had a role in his marital breakdown!
Immediately, Scarlett found herself bombarded with questions.
"Scarlett, how long have you been with Andrew?"
"Did you start seeing Andrew before your divorce?"
"Andrew, did you cause Ryan and Scarlett's divorce?"
"Scarlett, did you join Ford Group to get back at Ryan?"
Scarlett's face darkened instantly.
Through the crowd, flashing cameras, and overlapping shadows, she mockingly looked towards Ryan, who was standing at the end of the red carpet.
"Since everyone is so curious about my private life, I won't hide it any longer," she raised her voice.
"You all know my ex-husband's ex-girlfriend is back. It would be a pity if I didn't quit and let the love birds reunite. And... their child is innocent and deserves to return to their family. Isn't that right?"
Her words detonated the crowd!
The murmurs turned into loud discussions as all the reporters grew overly excited!
"A supermodel's secret child and a CEO's affair? What a headline!"
"So, the previous rumors about Caroline having a child abroad were true..."
"Ryan really has an illegitimate child! I knew it couldn't be baseless!"
The string of explosive revelations sent the red carpet into a frenzy.
No one cared about the original purpose of the celebration anymore; all cameras were now on Ryan and Caroline!
"Caroline, is what Scarlett said true?"
"Caroline, did you break up their marriage and give birth to Ryan's child?"
"Caroline, please respond to Scarlett's accusation of having Ryan's illegitimate child!"
"Ryan, did you divorce because you cheated with Caroline? You're the CEO, but you are involved in such a scandal. If Boston Group's stock drops tomorrow, how will you explain it to your shareholders? Say something!"
