"So, now I,..." He went silent for a moment while Anne's lips quivered thinking he was going to kill her at any moment.
"...have accepted you."
"What?" Her lips barely moved before she started her lame attempts to get herself free.
"So, you aren't in love with me anymore...you seemed to enjoy a lot last night." This made Anne look in his emerald eyes that seemed to go darker. The cut that crossed his right brow and eye made him look like a monster. There was nothing good about the way he held her.
"What?..." Her breath hitched and eyes narrowed as she looked at his amused face. He wasn't kidding. His eyes on her mouth made her throat dried and she was about to say something when she got startled with a car pulling up inside the estate.
An appeal for help was about to get free from her but something told her not to. And, the moment she saw two men in black suits coming out of that range rover she was thankful that she didn't. One man handed that killer a jacket while the other said something in his ear.
She let out a breath when his hands were not on her anymore. But his eyes on her all the time fixed her in her place. She wondered what he was trying to tell her with those eyes.
There was no way out until she saw a van pulling at the same place. Two men came out in the white dress and got inside the house.
She looked at the body being carried out but this time it was covered in a blue bag. Her glassy eyes were still focused on the body getting to the van when she felt him over her cheek.
"I am not a good sight when I am jealous...you better stop looking at him," She heard him say but stayed still until she felt his hands around her waist and mouth on her neck.
"Let's get you to your home, and start where we left off..." Her eyes moved as she listened to the word home and felt her skin burned where he placed his lips. Staying close to him was like having a noose around your neck.
He motioned her to walk and when she didn't his hold on her waist get more suggestive while she heard him say, "Unless you want to move in with me right away..."
This made her look at him. There was something the way he talks to her that let her believe that he will take her to her home. So, she started walking knowing she can ask for help the moment she saw anyone she knows.
One of the men in the black suits came ahead to hold the door for her. Looking at her getting to the door Damien walked to the other door, but before she could get inside the car she heard another car approaching.
And, this time it was a familiar one. Her throat gets stung knowing she was saved. It was her chance. And, the moment she saw Rick coming out of the car her eyes got misty as she ran for four long meters to hug him tight.
"Get me out of her...Rick...Get me out of here." Her voice came out hoarse but when Rick hugged her back she felt safe.
"What happened? Tell me..." She looked up and was trying to find the words when she felt a hard stare at her back. And, knowing all too well to whom this stare might belong she got at Rick's side and hid behind his shoulder before peeking out.
"What you have got yourself into?" She heard Rick hissed and only hoped for him to take her out from here.
"Please help..." She only whispered behind his back.
"Mr. Devonte...I am sorry for the inconvenience. She is new..." She heard him and wonders who this Devonte is. But everything was alright until Rick got her out of here.
"...I will collect her whenever you will call me."
What he just said? She was still trying to process when she heard Rick say,
"Anne, go..." She was jolted out of her reverie when she felt a bump from his shoulder. But one look at the man with a hard jaw ahead of her was enough to make her run for her life. And, this is exactly what she opted for. Sparing a glance of disbelief to Rick she ran with all she got.
Don't look at your back. Don't...Don't, ...Don't, She didn't know why she looked at her back but in those four men standing her eyes were only held by...Devonte who was not wearing his shades anymore.
No one made any effort to get to her but she still couldn't rest. This time she walked until the road ahead got onto a crossroad and walked until the shops start appearing and the traffic became a little busier.
There was a thought to get to the station and ask for help but more than that she wanted to see Tyler. She knew he would know better and they will deal anything coming to their way.
She let out a breath as she called for the cab. But the moment her nerves got a little in control she wondered how she was ever supposed to tell Tyler any of this. How she can ever tell him that she sold herself for a night and now have a killer chasing her around.
Do you have any other options? Her inner voice scorned.
"No,...I will tell him everything. He will understand. He will be pissed but he will understand." She tried to tell herself as the cab ran on the road taking her to her place. "We,...we are a family," She tried to tell herself all the way to home.
Realizing she doesn't have any money she asked the driver to stay where he was and got in to find the money. The moment she walked into her place the chill in the air told her how silent it was. Everything was left as before indicating no one got inside.
She wondered for a moment but then put on her jeans before walking out to pay the driver to only notice there was no one. For a moment she could feel someone's stare.
Calm down, just calm down...there is no one. But why that cab driver left without his fare. The thought made her body frozen for a few minutes before panic surged in her body and she got back to her apartment taking long strides. She couldn't help but look at her back all the time before she secured her door at her back.
She looked at her hands shivering before hugging herself hard and walked to her window to notice nothing. There was no person she could find who supposed to look as if keeping an eye on her.
"Relax, relax, relax, relax..." She tried to tell herself.
You were not in your senses and even he knows that. You are fine, Anne. You are fine as long as you keep your mouth shut about the murder...He doesn't have any reason to hurt you. She thought but the tears that dared to come out told another story.
Pulling her hair back she was about to get to her bedroom when she jumped hearing a knock at her door.
I know this cliffhanger is bad. But any guess who it can be?....
