Chapter 2

896 Words
"Who is he?" Zack asked the man standing outside the iron door. He knew if Damien was inside someone has probably lost his life. "His new fling,...turns out she was working for a new gang." Zack's impression got hard listening to this. "Was it necessary?" Zack whispered but he had more pressing matters to worry about. And, the most important was to wonder for what he has been called for all the way here that too on his birthday. He had plans with his wife and kids and losing his life on his birthday didn't sit well with him. "Send him in!" Zack was tense listening to this voice. He was going to see him after eight months and heard he had become more of a hardliner. I am a Devonte' he can't kill me unless I plan to kill him. Zack whispered the most basic rule of the family. You don't kill family over anything unless they want to kill you. Getting inside he was welcomed with an intense thick odor of blood and a girl lying lifeless on a table. Her blood was still dripping off her hands. He wanted to have a look at her body but then decided against it. On his left side, he could notice Damien under the shower behind the plastic cover. Zack, three years older than Damien, never visited this place until Xavier was still alive. But after him, Damien had made sure to make everyone see what they really are. So, it was his third time in this room. A place no one wants to be taken to, "How was your journey?" Damien asked from the shower.  "It was,...good," Zack replied, "Great," Damien said before getting out naked. He ran his hands in his hair to look at Zack and smile, "Happy birthday,..." "Thank you," Zack replied and turned to look at the body before returning his gaze to Damien's muscular body filled with tattoos. As if complaining about making him see this on his birthday. "She died satisfied," The sickening smile on Damien's mouth made Zack fear him even more. "Of course, she did," Zack said with his lips pressed.  "You called me to wish me birthday?" Zack asked looking at him getting into his leather Jacket but got silent with Damien's raised brow. "Talk only when I ask you a question? It will let you live." Damien suggested but looked in his eyes to see no care. "Are you from the ones who believe I won't harm you only because you are family?" Zack could see the excitement on his face and it made him scared. "I,...I,..." "I thought everyone knew better after Diego," Damien mentioned one of their cousins. "He tried to,...kill,...you." Zack tried his best not to stutter but failed, "Did he?" Damien asked in wonder and saw Zack gulping hard. "Don't worry Zack, breathe," Damien offered his best smile before adding. "Number of your women behind your wife's back is enough for me to finish your picture-perfect life. You are my most low maintenance family member. I love you," Damien whispered the last part and Zack didn't know how to react. "There is a huge lot coming this Friday. I want you to get your famous band playing on that day," Zack who was running the entertainment industry with two of his younger brothers had done it before too but this time it was difficult. They were running tight on schedule.  "You want to talk?" Damien asked, "No, I will arrange that,...I was thinking to see kids," "Their exams are coming up. They don't have time for you." Damien replied monotonously before getting to look at the body for the last time. Her once beautiful green eyes were now lifeless. Her petite figure and golden hair were always enough to make him crazy. "Goodbye. I will send your boyfriend soon," He kissed her forehead before turning to Zack. "You will stay in the motel and look after the casinos. I have other things to deal with." Getting out Damien passed a look at Chris who seemed to be disappointed by his action. Damien couldn't care any less. He knew that Chris will stay with him no matter what. He made sure that Chris knew the only way to get away from him was death. Though Liz was dead now he couldn't feel the fire burning in his lungs getting any less. And, he knew it will only be satisfied with more blood. He took the lift to get to the first floor while Chris followed him too. Damien knew what he wanted to say but he didn't want to hear it. He only wanted blood. A lot of it. "She was only two weeks old,...it wasn't necessary," Chris finally said while the lift door opened. Damien's mere gaze was enough for Chris to take his clue to stay shut up. Damien took long steps to get out of the casino. He should have known better than Liz to make a fool out of him. He hated how he still could feel her voice saying sweet things or how she held him without any fear. He bumped someone in his way but he was in a hurry. He didn't want anyone to see him losing control over his emotions. So, he raced his range rover to drive to get to anywhere he can't see a single soul. A lot of s*x, killings, emotional drama, misunderstandings, and f****d up emotions are on the way.
