Akiko was confused why Jamie, Yuri, and Leif all seemed to be in on something that she didn’t know about, but she’d resigned herself to letting it play out. She’d found them together one morning after Yuri left without telling her, and she’d gone to the library to study to wait since Jamie wasn’t replying to her either. They all looked like they’d been caught with their hands in the cookie jar, and Jamie and Yuri blurted out different excuses as to why they were all there and why they weren’t answering their phones. Leif looked horrified to see her, his face so red she wondered if something was wrong with him. Then, she saw him clutching a bag over his lap, and she realized he seemed to be hiding a bit more than the other two.
“What the hell could they even be talking about?” she wondere
