The two hours William gave the boys seemed to drag on forever as Jamie paced, and Leif stared at their wall in silent contemplation. “Will you cut it out? You’re going to wear a hole in the damn floor if you don’t stop pacing,” Leif growled. Jamie’s nervous energy was infectious, and although Leif was worried about his reluctantly accepted new friends, too, he was trying to think.
