11. SHE'S PREGNANT

2051 Words
Tiara and Logan's honeymoon was planned for a month but they had to come back early since Tiara wasn't feeling well. Logan didn't know what to do so he suggested they come back home. He hated that they had to come back a week before their initially planned date but there was nothing he could do, he was helpless and his wife's health was important than anything. Tiara suggested that they can always take a vacation once she's well again if it would make him feel better about cutting their honeymoon short. Although it was not going to solve anything, he agreed and the started packing and booked their flight tickets. They made their way back home and Gail told them they were worried for nothing, there was nothing wrong with Tiara. "Mom, she's been vomiting everything she eats. She had a fever for two days, we thought it was nothing serious but she's been like that for a week and it's not getting any better. Why would we lie about something like that? I know I would worry even if it wasn't something big but still, she's my wife and I hate seeing her like this." Gail just laughed at him. "Mom this is not funny. My wife is dying and we came back hoping you'll be able to figure out what's wrong with her." "There's nothing wrong with her you fool. She's pregnant, you're going to be a father." Logan stood there trying to figure out if he heard her right. He was going to be a father? "It is completely normal for women to vomit during early days of pregnancy. Your wife is having the same problem, she will be fine in a few weeks but for now, she will be like this." Gail kept explaining to him. She too was surprised. "I'm going to be a mother?" Tiara's hands instantly went to her flat stomach. She looked down at it as if imagining her baby inside her. "I have Logan's baby growing inside me? Mother, this is great news. I was not happy about cutting my honeymoon short but now I think it was worth it. If we didn't come back I wouldn't have known this. I can't believe I'm carrying a child. I'm carrying Logan's baby!" She kept smiling as she rubbed her belly. "It's your baby too, not just his. You are both going to be parents and I'm going to be a grandmother. I can't believe this! Thank you, Tiara, you have given me the greatest gift." Gail said as she hugged her daughter-in-law. Logan stood there and did nothing. He was happy that Tiara was pregnant but he just didn't know what to do. He didn't know if he was ready to be a father. His mother and Tiara saw that she was frozen in his place and stopped talking and laughing together. They looked at him and he expected them to say something but nothing came out of their mouths. They just looked at him as they expected him to say something. "What?" He asked as he saw that they were saying nothing. "You're not going to say anything? I just told you your wife is carrying a child and you have nothing to say?" "What do you want me to say? Am I supposed to say anything?" "Are you being serious right now? Of course, you should say something, not just stand there and look like someone who doesn't have a care in the world about what he just heard." Tiara left the room crying and Logan didn't know why she was crying. "What did I do?" "You are impossible. You should have told her how you felt about her pregnancy. You are happy right?" Gail asked him. "Of course I'm happy. Why wouldn't I be happy? Mom, she is carrying my child. My child." "Then you should have told her that you are happy. You hurt her by saying nothing. Didn't you promise to never hurt her? You should keep your word, I raised you better than that." Logan felt like an i***t, he didn't know he was hurting her by saying nothing. He was just shocked and he didn't know how to react to the news. "Go talk to her. Apologise and tell her that you're happy. Let her see that you're happy too, don't just tell her, make sure she believes it too." Logan left his mother and made his way to where Tiara went to. She was standing alone at the back of the house and crying. "Go away, I don't want to talk to you." She said as she felt him approaching. "I'm sorry darlin', I made you cry and I had made a promise to always bring a smile to your face. I failed you. Please forgive me, my love, I'm sorry." He kept walking towards her. "Don't come any closer, stay where you are. I'm not going to forgive you. Why are you behaving like I was alone when this baby was conceived?" She kept crying and even though she told him to stay where he was, Logan went to her and pulled her back to his chest and wrapped his hands around her and let them rest in her belly. "That's not true. I was just shocked and I'm sorry I made you feel like I didn't care. I am happy about it and I should've said so but I had no idea what to say to you. I am happy that you're carrying our child, it couldn't have happened with a better woman. Our baby will be blessed to have a mother like you." "So you're not angry that I'm pregnant?" "Not at all, I can't explain how happy I am. You just made me the happiest man alive." "I was thinking that maybe you didn't want our child, I'm sorry too." "What for? You haven't done anything wrong." Logan kept running his hands around her belly. "I jumped into conclusions. I should have trusted that you will be happy about having a baby." "It's ok my love. You don't have to apologise. Look, why don't we go and see a doctor? I know my mother will never say that you're pregnant if you're not but I still feel like we should go see a doctor. We can go anytime you want, even now. What do you think?" "I think that's a good idea but we don't have to go today, we can go anytime. We are not going anywhere, we still have a lot of time." "If you say so." "There you are, I've been looking for you." Malia came to them and her eyes went to Tiara. "You are glowing! Don't tell me I'm going to be an aunt?" It came as a question. When they both looked at her, Malia saw that it was true. "Oh my God! I'm going to be an aunt!" She screamed and Logan had to cover his ears considering how loud she was. "I still love my sense of hearing, thank you very much," Tiara said as she looked at her sister-in-law. "I'm sorry, I'm just so happy. Of course, I'm happy that Clay and Arianna are having a baby but with you two, I made a wish on your wedding that you have a baby soon. I'm so happy!" She hugged her sister-in-law. The hug was so tight that Tiara had to tell the princess that she wanted to breathe. She looked at her and smiled. "I'm sorry, I couldn't control myself. I heard that you came back early and I wanted to see you for myself. I also wondered what could be the reason. This is the best news ever, I'm going to be an aunt." "I think the whole world know you're going to be an aunt by now with the way you keep shouting. Calm down, will you?" Logan said to his sister. "Clay is going to be happy. At least we get to hear some good news today, with Kaden being out of consciousness, we all needed to hear some refreshing news." "Kade is up? When did this happen?" Logan asked his sister as he saw that she wasn't happy about it and that she didn't want to tell them that Kaden was up. "Don't worry about him. He will not be able to do anything to you, mother is not allowing him to leave his room. Just concentrate on your wife and your unborn child." She said as she looked at Tiara's belly. "You carry a precious jewel, you should rest. Come with me, I've been looking at things women do when pregnant and I saw that they should rest at least a few hours a day. With Arianna's pregnancy, I've learned a lot. She has a diet too, we should prepare yours and you can tell me things you don't like." She kept talking as they made their way back inside the house. "Stop fussing. I'm sure we can do that later." Tiara didn't want to start having diets at this early stage but she didn't want to disappoint Malia too. She was happy about the whole thing and she didn't want to take that away from her. "Nonsense. We are going to do that now and all you have to do is tell me what you like and what you don't. We are going to work around that, we will take out the things that you shouldn't eat though." When they reached the house Malia quickly went to Gail. "Mother, please tell her. She is refusing to help me prepare a diet for her." "I don't blame her, it's still early for that. Her body is still adjusting and she doesn't really know what she likes or don't." "It's never too early but I guess we could do it some other time. I'm just happy, I think my head is refusing to act normal." She looked at her feet. "I'm sorry Tiara." "It's okay sweetheart, once I'm ready, you'll be the first to know. I know how much this baby means to you." Tiara sat next to her as she spoke. "You're just doing what you feel is right, you should never have to apologise for that. Don't you ever do that again." "I won't, I promise." "Good, because I don't want to ever hear you apologise for anything that concerns this baby." Meanwhile, Logan was still thinking about Kaden. He was up and he didn't know if he wanted to face him. He was hoping that he wakes up but now that he is up, Logan doesn't know what to do. He couldn't find it in him  to be angry with him even though he wanted to. Kaden betrayed him but on top of that, Logan wanted to talk to him and forgive him even though he didn't apologise. "I hope you're not thinking what I think you do. Don't even think about it." Clayton said as he approached him. "He made a mistake and he shouldn't be forgiven. You have given Kaden a too many chances to do the right thing but all your efforts have always gone to waste. You are not going to see him." "He's still my brother you know, no matter what he has done. I also stabbed him." "Are you insane? Big brother, I respect you but I will not allow you to go see him. He should stay there for the rest of his life or better yet, they should just send him to a mental hospital." He looked at his brother. "Look, nobody is going to think you're heartless if you don't visit him. Mother locked him inside his room and I think it's going to be like that until she decides it's enough. I don't blame her too, what if he woke up with a will to kill you?" "Why would he do that? Besides, I will never make the mistake of underestimating him. You are just worrying for nothing." "He's not worrying for nothing. I will not allow you to go there. My son will not go to that place. Never." "Mother?" Logan asked his mother as he saw her standing in the corner of the house. "Don't do that! You are not going anywhere."
