A knowing smile curled up the Emperor's lips, and he said, "Is that person your brother?" Vin's eyes widened in surprise, and he fervently nodded. The Emperor chuckled, and responded, "Your brother has been dissatisfied with his position for years. I would not be surprised if the rebels are able to recruit him even." Vin thought of the voice again, but spoke instead, "He was alone when he tried to kill me that night." Shaking his head, the emperor looked at his nephew like a naive child, "Of course he was alone, he was confident that killing you would be an easy task." The Emperor reached out a hand, and proceeded to pat the young man's head in a fond manner, "You have always been different, Havan. You never seem to care much about vain things. Just like your father." The Emperor's eyes
