Taegan, to my relief, never came back. He didn’t try to argue with me anymore and when I called mom to see if I could coax information out of her without arousing suspicion, there wasn’t any hint of concern about my questioning. Taegan, it seems, hadn’t called back home either.
If he had called mom, she would have portaled down here immediately and prevented me from leaving for Alfheimr with Rosie in a fit. She would have lectured me to no end, forgetting that I am a couple of years into being an adult now. I can drink in the human world, but my mom will still reprimand me like a child if she deems it necessary. She would probably even bring my stepdad, and there is no way he wouldn’t have left Alpha Parker out of the loop.
