Chapter 7Kel had been asleep when Richard headed to bed, snoring softly the way he had the previous night. Richard wondered if that was the norm with him or the result of the hit he’d taken to his nose. He found it oddly appealing either way. He woke at seven-thirty Monday morning to sunshine lighting his bedroom and the aroma of coffee. The latter let him know Kel was already up and moving. Once he was dressed for the day, in jeans and a blue work shirt, and had used the bathroom, he went into the kitchen. He found Kel sitting at the table, still in the dark jeans he’d been wearing when he’d arrived and the sweatshirt Richard had loaned him. “I was going to fix breakfast,” Kel said when he saw him, “but I didn’t know what you were in the mood for.” “Eggs and bacon are my norm. Pancakes
