Chapter 5Kel was at the coffee shop at nine Friday morning, feeling sleep-deprived. He’d tossed and turned once he made it to bed, worries about how he was going to keep Richard alive without breaking his cover uppermost in his mind. He got coffee and a pastry, taking them to a table along one wall of the shop. A few minutes later Richard appeared. When he glanced at him, Kel gave a slight shake of his head, glad to see Richard got the message. Even though it was highly unlikely, the last thing he needed was for one of his cohorts to show up and see them together.
