She turned around and went upstairs, just as Beth came downstairs, the pink evening gown she was wearing was not off, and she raised her chin provocatively at Arabella, but her tone was gentle.
"Sister, do you see how nice my dress looks? Ezra bought it for me this afternoon, and I'm going to wear it to Emma's family dinner tomorrow night. By the way you haven't prepared your evening gown yet, I guess you don't have to because you won't be able to go either, will you?"
