~ JAMIE ~
.
If life has ever taught me something, it's to seize every opportunity you get and make the best out of it.
And that's what I plan to do.
"You are out of your mind."
I turned and gave Maria a flat look. She was more of a killjoy than Rowan would ever be.
"I don't know. I think I like this." Felix said.
See, at least someone understands me.
"I don't mind either." Though Ody said it, he looked like he was saying it for the sake of it because he did not want to come off as a p***y.
He was a warrior but he was more of a 'wolf that fought for his pack and fulfilled his duties' than a 'wolf who relished on blood shed'. That was Felix. He loved blood.
Dude told me he would have become a butcher if he had not been a pack warrior. And that he was deliberately left out of this war because his Delta thought that he would aggravate the war with his mercilessness. In other words, I liked him. He understood my need to see blood.
Yes, it's f****d up. But so is my entire life.
"It's just a short course and I am sure we will be so much better at it than any of those idiotic humans in there." I said.
Felix nodded in agreement. Goddess, I loved this man! Why couldn't you make him my mate?
"But criminal psychology?"
"I have the criminal part down pat." I clapped happily. And the three, as always, gave me their flat looks. Jeez, I am stuck with all these idiots.
But you know what? I am actually glad that Peter was so thoughtful about who he got to guard me. I would not have been able to take breaths in peace if these people had something against me.
Just think. How would I get away with all the things that I do on a daily basis if these three hated me the way Rowan hated me?
Well, basically I am getting ahead of myself. For all I know, these idiots could be plotting to backstab and kill me. But as I have said before, it is impossible to kill me because I happen to invincible. Hehe.
At least I hope it's valid even though I haven't seen my beautiful wolf form in four years.
"Earth to Jamie!"
I looked over at Maria. She actually looked pretty relaxed. I guess she was relieved that despite the fact that I had complete control over all three of them, I was not interested in anything stupid. And that she does have a valid reason when Rowan gets mad that he was kept in the dark about what was going on.
Then again, Rowan was not such a bad guy. He was not the tyrant sort of person who would give people hell. He understood people. He did not understand me because he never tried to, and he probably still would have the same impression of me because oh well, I do show who I am. (Except hiding my beautiful wolf maybe.)
"Jamie??" I had given Ody and Felix the permission to call me Jamie because the humans would be suspicious and amused if people walked around calling me Luna or something.
"I feel like I am falling in and out of sleep."
"That's because you were so excited yesterday that you didn't get any sleep." Maria pointed out.
I narrowed my eyes at her and turned to Felix. "How long till my apartment is werewolf hearing proofed?"
"Three days max." He shrugged. I loved how laid back and relaxed this wolf was. His heart rate was always along the baseline. Meanwhile, mine was always racing as if my body was trying to keep the adrenaline pumped at all time to run at the first chance that I got. As if? Knowing my body, there was a very high possibility of it doing just that.
"Ugh!" I whined and then got over it in a second, clapping my hands. "Let's go get enrolled."

"Why don't you have a mate?" I asked Felix.
"I used to."
"Did I kill her?" I asked. The question came so naturally to me.
"No. She rejected me and chose her childhood friend." He shrugged, like he didn't give a s**t about it. He probably didn't.
"Seriously?" Ody chimed in. "Mine left me because she was convinced I am gay."
"Are you?" I asked.
"I certainly am not." He gave me the most indignant look. And he looked so adorable.
"You are so cute." I pulled his cheek.
"Jamie, don't forget your position. You are the Luna... Act like it." Maria said. Felix and Ody immediately took a step away from me, straightening their posture and going back to looking like two bodyguards.
I narrowed my eyes at her. "What about you Maria? Did your mate leave you because you always have a stick up your butt?"
She rolled her eyes at me. Like she always does. I should really start keeping count of it.
"You know very well that I have not found my mate yet."
"Sure sure."
Sure sure... I am forever living for the moment when she will pierce a silver blade through my heart and confess to the fact that she had lost her mate to me.
And then I would pull the blade out in swag and as she watches in horror as my wound heals back to nothing, I will say, "I had doubted this outcome from the very beginning."
Buhahahahahahahhahhah!
"I know Jamie is a psycho, but she still never fails to surprise me with how unhinged she is."
I should teach this Ody a lesson. But he is just so damn cute!!
"Ow ow ow ow!!" Ody whined as I pulled his cheeks again.
"Why are you chooo cute??? It's illegal!"
"Jamie!"
"Please, I am pretty sure my mate is too busy to even care."

~ ROWAN ~
.
Rowan felt extremely restless. He felt happy and giddy despite the situation they were in and he highly doubted it had something to do with his mate.
But how was that possible? He had not marked Jamie yet because he did not want to feel what she felt.
He hated her.
But now that he thought about it, he always felt weird. There was always some eternal sadness in him. But he had conveniently thought it to have something to do with him. But now, apparently, he was convinced that this was Jamie.
Why? Because he was feeling giddy and happy. In the middle of a war. And the only person whom he knew would be absolutely loving the situation was his mate.
"Peter, make a call to Maria and ask her what's going on with her." He said. He did not want to even take her name. And Peter found this amusing.
"Why? What happened?" He asked, getting up from his chair to move over to where he had put his phone on charging.
"She is upto something. I can feel it." He replied curtly, very much aware of the curious eyes on him.
"Oh come on, I am pretty sure Maria will be able to handle her just well now. You forget that she is used to the job."
"It's just that... It's... She's just too happy right now."
Peter gave the Alpha a blank look for just a few seconds before he burst out laughing.
Rowan glared at his beta. He really needed to learn to respect him.
"I am sorry... But you have a problem with her being happy?" Peter was not backing down. He was way too amused.
"Her idea of happiness is not usually good for others." Rowan said stubbornly, refusing to make eye contact with Peter.
Peter rolled his eyes. He really needed to give up trying to get his Alpha to see some sense. But he needed to spit out facts or else Rowan was not going to cease obsessing over the situation.
"Jamie is human now, Ro. There is no way she can do anything that will hurt three full-fledged wolves. And besides, how would you know what she is feeling? She is not even marked by you."
Rowan just stared back at Peter, refusing to answer. Because he did not know what to answer. Peter had made two very solid points. Jamie was human and she was not marked. There should be no threat of danger whatsoever. But he could not ignore the nagging feeling in the pit of his stomach which told him that the she wolf was definitely up to no good.
Wolves relied greatly on intuition and Rowan Serge was someone who took great pride in his intuitions being always right. He could not ignore it.
"Just call Maria and see what's going on." He said finally.
Peter rolled his eyes and dialled Maria's number, putting it on speaker phone to make his point as he waited for the call to be picked up.
"Hello?" Maria sounded breathless as she said it.
Rowan was alerted at once and Peter was confused. "Why do you sound like that?"
"Jamie is on a roll. She wanted to paint the apartment herself so she sent away the painters but of course she can't do it because our princess has not lifted a finger in over four years. BUT she want the painting finished by today so Felix, Ody and I are going MAAD!" Maria shrieked in one breath.
While Rowan was surprised and didn't know what to say, Peter simply burst out laughing. "That sounds like her."
"Yeah. Now she does not like the drapes that she had made me put up in her room just an hour ago, and wants me to personally go get new ones. What do I do with this kid?"
"She is going to be demanding and edgy until she settles down." Peter said. "Just bear with it."
"I know I know." Maria gave away nothing as she said it. "At least that was an estate. This is an apartment and she has absolutely nothing else to do."
