(Seventeen Minutes Before the Sunstrike)

"Affirmative," said a woman from the radio as an officer that is in charge of the fortification of the oilfields listened. "Orbital Weapon Support will be firing in T-minus seventeen minutes."

The officer cried, "We don't have seventeen minutes! We need support now! The lizards are picking us one by one!"

"Please calm down," said the woman. "Lady Cleopatra, the Goddess of the Sand will be arriving in a few minutes as well as Hyun, the God of Blood. We assure you that we are doing the fast as we can to send support."

"AAARGH!!!" screamed the officer when a lizard destroyed the roof of his bunker. It swallowed him whole and it went to find another meal.

All of the information in the Universe cannot travel faster than the speed of light as far as the understanding of the Universe goes. The radio signals are sent from the Earth using a series of satellite relays and to the Sun, crossing a vast space that it takes eight minutes and eighteen seconds for the light or any of the Electromagnetic Radiation to travel. Radio waves also travel at the speed of light which is roughly 300 million meters per second. The code to activate the weapon system is instantly encoded and sent it as radio waves to the sun.

Around the sun, there are thousands of satellites in orbit near and around it. They are specialized satellites that can endure the radiation and heat from the sun without their electronics (computers) failing or getting fried. They also have engines that make them stay on their intended orbit, for the sun is constantly blowing them away with hot plasma and radiation.

As soon as they got the code, they deployed their mirrors like origami. The mirrors have a diameter of twenty meters supported by adjustable frames that bend the mirror to focus the dense light coming from the sun and reflect it to the satellites that orbit above them to make it a single beam to send it to Earth. There are complicated calculations behind this satellite system that enabled them to accurately predict the movement of the Earth and the satellite they target to collect the energy directly from the sun. To put it in other words, the humans created the largest magnifying glass to harvest the sun's energy in a focused beam and send them to Earth.

It takes another eight minutes and eighteen seconds for the light to get to one or more of the "Harvesters" - satellites that collect the light coming from the mirrors. There are large spheres mounted on each of them that collect the focused energy to divert them in a single beam to a target. They glow as they absorb the incoming light then send them to another satellite that happens to have a better location above the Ra Continent.

In the n***d eye, it seems that the satellite is doing nothing but in reality, it buzzes in radiation if viewed from instruments that can detect them. The beam of light cannot be seen from the side as it travels across the vacuum of space. It is when it enters the atmosphere of the Earth that anyone can see the bright yellow beam of light as it heats the air so some of the light disperses. Like a strike from the sun it is, so it is named, "Project Sunstrike."

The air around the oilfield let out a silent, blinding light. Jasper as a bird covered his eyes with his wings. Sayuri, Jack, and Hiroki cried in pain after they are blinded. They closed their eyes but they still see the bright light and the last thing they saw before closing their eyes like bright photographs that stuck on their eyeballs.

"Argh!!" cried Hiroki in pain. "What happened?"

Sayuri just frowned in pain and opened her eyes after a minute. She found herself on the ground after she fell off the boulder after the flash.

"Wait," said Jack while covering his eyes with his metal hand. He is kneeling and says, "that wasn't supposed to happen. It is a laser beam, doesn't disperse, and the Harvesters can split the beams to strike different targets at the same time!"

Hiroki finally got his eyes cleared up as he sat leaning against the boulder. "What- Ow!!!" he cried after a hot molten pebble scraped his sleeves.

Then they saw a part of the boulder that is glowing red hot. "What happened?" asked Jack as he walked over the hill to see the oilfield.

Everything is glowing red like a volcano erupted not too long ago. The sand and rocks on the ground around the oil field were molten and the metal oil rigs, vehicles, and buildings were looking like melted cheese. Not a single soul survived the strike and Jack noticed that there are dome-like structures in the middle of the hellfire. All of them melted and glowing red and the remains of the lizards were inside it. He used his telescope to see one of the dome structures. He figured out that they were supposed to be mirrors because some of the domes, didn't melt entirely and they look reflective. It is much the same as how Sayuri countered his laser cannons when they first met.

"This is a catastrophe," he muttered to himself after seeing the weapon fail to strike specific targets with precision without killing allies.

Then another beam of light glowed at the south of the oilfield. Jack looked there and saw the giant lizard with a laser cannon that pointed to the sky. The Harvester that shot the laser beam from space got destroyed.

"Bwahahahaha!" laughed the god riding the lizard. "Your own weapon is your doom!"

Jasper was walking on the sand as a bird and not quite sure about what happened but he saw earlier that the lizard that the god is riding on, absorbed the laser beam using the equipment mounted on it. The laser cannon disposed of itself to unburden the lizard and the God of Lizard went to see the destruction on the oilfield.

He laughed evilly and screamed, "The Heir has judged you all!!"

There is no one alive on the oilfield to listen or deny his words. His body is built to fight. He has big muscles that became clear of how big they are as his sweat reflected light and exposed the roundness of his muscles. He has dual scimitars behind his back and he doesn't have a shirt. He is bald, has tattoos all over his body, and red warpaint on his face.

The companions of Sayuri heard his words and became curious. Jasper felt even more excited and felt like he wants to talk to that god until he sensed a familiar presence. Jack and Sayuri sensed it too. She looked far to the east over the blazing oilfields and there's a sandstorm coming toward them with a lady in the middle of it. Then they hid behind the boulder.

The god smirked at the sight of Cleopatra, the Goddess of the Sand. She saw everything from above and her eyes glimmered in the tears of sadness. She saw death everywhere and imagined how much these men suffered before they died.

"Cleopatra?" thought the bird Jasper to himself as he flew to see her closely while keeping himself and his presence disguised. "Man..., she just got more beautiful. I kinda regret I broke up with her.... Argh! No! I don't regret it! I am loyal to Lady Sayuri now! But it wouldn't hurt if I check out her measurements after five years." So he flew up to go near her. "Oooh... nice," he thought while flying around her waist and up to her neck. "I can see some significant improvements. She's hotter than before! Tsss...."

She held out her hand and he stood on her delicate and flawless fingers. She sensed him as just another bird of the desert and not a god. Jasper looked at her teary eyes as she said, "I am glad to see you, little one. I am glad to know that not all precious lives have been taken." She leaned forward to kiss the bird.

"Ohhohoo.....," thought Jasper. "A kiss for a long time.... Uhh no! I won't, for Lady Sayuri!" He jumped and landed on her head to dodge her kiss. "Damn.... I kinda regret that... My ego wanted the kiss...." Then he just smelled her hair, picked a single strand, and she laughed with a graceful smile while the tears of sadness turned into tears of joy. "Girl, your hair still smells and tastes good like always..."

The God of Lizards is getting impatient waiting on the ground and looking up as he just watched the goddess play with the bird so he yells, "I am gonna kill you here right now, Cleopatra!"

Then her face turned serious as she handled the bird Jasper with her soft hands. He likes her warm hand as she clasped him. Then she whispers, "It's dangerous here, little bird. Go and be safe!" she declared as she opened her hands and Jasper flew happily and in his mind, he is laughing lustily.

"Ahehhehehe....," he giggled in his mind as he flew to where Sayuri and the others are. He transformed back into himself behind the boulder. He turned around and a hand grabbed a hold of his right ear. "Ow!" he cried in pain as he guesses that his goddess saw what he did.

"You never learn, do you?" she threatened him with a summoned sword before his crotch. Jack and Hiroki got alarmed but there's nothing they could do to save him.

"No, no, no, no, my lady," he stammered. "I swear I did it so I can disguise into her present appearance! It might be important for us if we get to Ra City." He transformed into Cleopatra so she let go of him and so he smiled after enduring the painful pinch but then she slapped him and he ate sand on the ground.

"I can see through your lies," she growled and went to look at the real Cleopatra and the god, only a moment away from clashing.

"Hammad, the God of Lizards," she said while slowly descending on the blazing ground with the help of her sand. "You killed so many fathers, husbands, and sons of the Realm. You are the evilest man I have ever met!" She stopped walking not far from where he is with his giant lizard.

"Oh, is that so, Lady Cleopatra so goody goody?" he mocked. "I kind of regret that you have to be this...," he showed his hand while looking at her body. "beautiful... because I have to kill you and put the rightful heir on the throne of Ra."

"You're wrong. I am the rightful heir."

"You have your reasons to believe it and I have my own. You won't believe me and I won't believe you. The only way to settle it is to fight. I planned this day so that no one will be interfering with our clash!"

"We don't have to fight, Hammad. Just surrender and I ensure that you will be spared-"

"Then rot behind the bars made out of Olympian Steel and rip out my living heart before I die so that your fake Clan can get my power? NO!" he spat.

"I will change your mind!"

"Just try but you'll never change my mind!" he roared as he stood upon the head of his lizard and pulled out his scimitars from his back. "Charge!" he screamed and jumped up as the lizard charged at her.

She made a wall of sand and the lizard jumped over it but she already ran through the hole she made on the wall. Her eyes glowed yellow and the sand circled her right arm as she shouted, "Sand Spear!" and punched the dual scimitar of Hammad. A shockwave destroyed everything around them and created a large dust cloud. The earth can be felt shaking on where Sayuri and her companions stood as they watched the two deities clash.

Cleopatra used the sand under Hammad's feet to restrain him but he pulled them out with the use of his Immunity. He tried to pull his scimitars but she grabbed them with her bare hands and punched him in the chest with her left fist.

"Gaaargh!" he coughed as he got knocked away to a very far distance and destroyed the dunes he hit as he went on. He growled kneeling on the sand after he stopped. He feels a terrible pain in his chest and he coughed blood.

As they saw Cleopatra with her glowing eyes and gathering the sand around her, Jasper says to his companions, "I did mention that she is a strong goddess, didn't I?"

Jack and Hiroki looking amazed as they looked at him after witnessing the strength behind the beauty of Cleopatra.
