The roots slithered towards Sayuri, thirsty for the moisture of her skin. They lunged forward when "AARGGH!!!" screamed someone jumping from the hole on the roof with a rusty sword ready to cut down the roots. The roots thrashed and wiggled around in pain as they retreated.
"Jasper?!" exclaimed Jack after he turned around and saw him.
"Don't let the roots touch your flesh, Jack!" shouted Jasper as the other roots started to move and aimed towards them like heads of snakes.
They lunged toward Sayuri and Jasper but Jack cut them with his laser. "Take her and let's get out of here!" he yelled.
Jasper carried their goddess in his arms and he jumped out of the house and onto the roof they came from and Hiroki is there waiting and lying on the ground. Jack jumped up, carried Hiroki on his shoulder, and ran to where Jasper is headed.
"What was that, Jasper?" asked Jack.
Jasper smirked in excitement as he said, "We just found one of the most dangerous kinds of titans secretly lurking beneath the Ra Desert."
"Titan?!" he exclaimed.
"Yes, and I read about it. These roots came from the titans that are named, 'The Judgement Trees'"
"I saw a huge tree trunk when we came in from the surface!"
"Maybe that's where its body is. And we cannot kill it, because they are the foundations for this planet's crust, that is why we chain all of them in the Depths of Tartarus! And now I know why it is so dangerous because it sucked all of the moisture I have in my right hand. It could grow bigger if it touches a bigger body of water and eventually kills all of the living things in the world! It can dry up the whole ocean! We just have to find a way to escape and-"
He saw a faint light at the distance and behind a hill of sand that is before them. They climbed up and they saw it. It is just a massive head made out of wood under the light of the sun coming from the large hole they came from earlier. The head is as big as the palace of Olympus but its shoulder and the rest of its body is buried under the ground. The other roots are wiggling around this Ancient Ra City and more can be found near the head. The three of them were struck by a blast of dread and fear when the eyes of the titan were looking at them.
"It received sunlight!" shouted Jasper. "This is freakin' bad!!" he laughed. "We have to deprive it of sunlight and water or else it will achieve mobility. Jack, we have to get out of here first to get our lady and Hiroki to safety before we act to fix this problem." He gave Sayuri to Jack then his eyes glowed green and from his eyes, his skin turned into scales, down to his body. "Mythical Morph: Dragon!"
Jasper gradually became larger and then two leathery wings came out from his back - it too, became larger over time. His face elongated into the head of a dragon with sharp teeth and horns. His wings spanned twenty meters across, a long tail, and he had this long neck that he bowed down to let the three of them ride on his neck. Jack put Hiroki first then Sayuri and him after. Jasper slowly flapped his heavy and wide wings then they gradually lifted off the ground. They flew to their only chance of escape, where the head of the titan is under.
It sent its slithering roots to attack them. Jasper inhaled deeply and breathed fire to the incoming roots. They got burned into a crisp but that's not all of them. More and more of them are coming.
"Hold our lady, Hiroki!" said Jack loudly as he stood up on Jasper's neck and ran on it to stand on his head.
"Hang on, my lady," whispered Hiroki to his unconscious goddess.
Jack's arms turned into a laser cannon and his shoulders glowed blue. He shot the laser at the incoming roots and Jasper breathed fire. They destroyed all of the roots and made a clear path over the titan's head. They began to ascend and Hiroki almost fell off while embracing their goddess by grabbing on the spikes of Jasper's neck to pin her down so she couldn't fall. Jack went to the tail without fear of falling and with his rifle, he shot at the roots pursuing them. The bullets he fired ignited them on fire for they are incendiary bullets. Then a thick root grabbed a hold of Jasper's tail. Jack lost balance and slipped, Hiroki grunted in force to hold on but he lost grip. He and Saturday fell from Jasper's neck and out of reach of anyone.
"AARGH!!!" he screamed as they fell.
"Hiroki!" cried Jack as he held onto Jasper's claw.
He tried to shoot the root that is grabbing onto Jasper's tail but it is too big. He can't fly because of his broken jetpack and Jasper is busy being entangled by the roots and slowly by being pulled down so they can't help their two falling comrades. Jasper loudly roared as the skin of his tail where the roots grabbed a hold of him got dried up even though it is protected by scales.
Hiroki embraced Sayuri and protected her head as they dived headfirst. Then dozens of blades came from her back to catch them softly and made them fly. A wide sword came under them and took them up to where Jasper and Jack is. Hiroki looked at the face of Sayuri and she's still unconscious. Then he felt the presence of someone familiar and someone he missed as the blade passed by his shoulder. He saw a reflection of Mato smiling at the shiny edge of the blade. He looked at the other blades but although he can't see them clearly, he can feel the presence of the tribesmen who gave their souls to Sayuri.
"Mato?!" exclaimed Hiroki.
The blades sliced and lunged on the roots, clearing a way for the two of them. Jack saw them being carried and was ready to help them get on. The wide blade flew away as soon as they got off and went for the root that pulled Jasper's tail. It got sliced, they got free and got out of the hole. Jasper took them to a safe distance as the roots still tried to pursue them but can't keep up. They got off of him and Jasper turned back into himself and collapsed on the sand.
"Jasper!" cried Jack as he helped him to sit up. "Are you okay?"
He looked Jack in the eyes while panting so hard as he said "I'm..... fine. How is Lady Sayuri?"
"She's-" he stopped when he saw her standing with her katana unsheathed and looking at the roots trying to extend from the hole. Hiroki watched from behind her and was surprised by her sudden wake.
"My lady," said Jack in a surprised look. "is your ankle-"
"I'm fine now," she said. He saw her ankle already cured and the swelling has stopped. She turned around with a calm face and said, "Worry about yourselves."
They nodded and she flew on her wide sword. She feels better than before like someone gave her the strength to fight. It's not a prayer from devotees but something that surged from her heart that gave her strength to use her power. Her eyes glowed violet as well as her sword. She held her it with her left hand and used her other hand to rip the fabric that is supposed to protect her skin from the hot sun. She threw it away and what's left of her is her sleeveless shirt, camouflaged jeans, and boots.
Hundreds of roots came out of the hole and they pulled the surroundings to enlarge it. That's when she said, "Thousand Blades:" she summoned a thousand blades that flew with her. "s*******r House!" The blades whistled as they charged and stormed the roots. They went through them like hot knives through butter. And that was not all of it. Suddenly, a horde of roots came sprouting from the hole to attack her all at once.
She pulled her katana back. "Sword of Four: Death Scythe!" She sliced sideways and the violet flame extended to sliced off the horde of roots easily. They came crashing down like giant worms. She flew above the hole and the titan roared at her. She looked fiercely at its eyes as she pointed her sword towards it and the blades charged down. Without an intended aim, they zipped around in every direction at very fast speeds. The titan roared in pain and shook the whole surrounding valley.
Hiroki, Jasper, and Jack heard its scream. They see her hovering above the hole at the distance and can see the violet glow of her power. They just sat and watched there in awe. All of their struggle in defeating some of its roots were nothing compared to the strength she has. Even the titan quivers before her.
"That's our goddess," said Jasper while he lied down the ground and smiling. He looks sick but forces himself to smile.
"She is, indeed," said Jack.
She stopped when she noticed that the head of the titan doesn't have any wooden flesh anymore. It looks like there are only bones left on it and its skull is shining like metal against the sun. It looks like it is not more than a colossal metal skull but it is still alive and its eyes are nowhere to be found. Its shredded flesh surrounded it like a peeled fruit and only the seed remained. She flew down and walked on it. Her boots clanged with every step. She stomped it very hard and the titan screamed opening its mouth.
"Go down," she growled and it didn't respond because it can't understand her. "I said," She raised her katana. "GO DOWN!!!" she screamed as she stabbed it on its skull. It went hilt-deep and the titan screamed in pain. "You want me to slice your head in half?!!"
Then it swayed sideways and she can see that it is going down deeper into the ground. She jumped off and stood in front of the face of the titan. She frowned and although it couldn't see her, it can feel her dreadful presence. "Climb back up and I'll slice you into pieces in the most painful way you can't even imagine!" She sheathed her katana just as the titan completely went deep into the ground then the ground around it collapsed and covered its shiny skull. She rode the wide sword and flew up and back to where her subordinates are. They were smiling as they saw her flying towards where they are.
"My lady," said Jack. "Are you fine?"
"I'm fine," she answered and looked at Jasper and Hiroki on the ground. "and let's find the two of you some help."
They nodded then she summoned three wide swords to carry all of them. Then they went eastward in a hurry. She hurried because Jasper is gravely injured after being in contact with the roots for a long time and Hiroki is having a fever as she did but now, she's all well and her ankle got miraculously healed as well as her other injuries. The wind blew at their faces that made them able to resist the heat from the afternoon sun and it whistled on their ears that made them feel at ease.
Jack is beside Sayuri and he couldn't resist but to ask, "Where are we going, my lady?"
"I sense people in that direction," she pointed to where they are headed and it is not directly east.
"You can sense them this far?" asked Jack in awe. She just nodded and he didn't ask more questions.
They flew for two hours and they finally saw a village that surrounded a dry oasis. That's when Jasper pulled out the journal from his chest. It was all in shreds and some of the pages were lost but he already knew what he wanted to know. He smirked even though he's so weak that Hiroki - who is sitting on his sword, noticed him and felt something peculiar.
"What's with you?" he asked.
"I solved the first mystery, Hiroki," he said while smiling in delight. "of why the Ra Continent is a desert."
Hiroki widened his eyes in curiosity and said, "Tell me."
