스물 여덟 번째 왕관 (28)
“You know what? You can just sleep at my house. You don’t need to go back here,” he said.
“I am more comfortable here, Your Highness, and besides, I’ll be living in your house soon after we got married. Don’t worry, I’ll do my best in my training and get used to it,” Jae Kyung said. “We’re all tired, Your Highness. You must go home now,” she bowed. “Good night, Your Highness.”
Before Jae Kyung could turn her back, she felt Prince Yi Eul pulling back her arm and let her face him once again. “You forgot something.”
“What is it?”
Prince Yi Eul didn’t respond instead, he took a step closer to Jae Kyung and gave her a kiss on her forehead.
Jae Kyung was shocked. Totally dumbfounded.
And once again, felt her heart beating fast.
“What the heck... what the heck is happening to me again?”
It took a few seconds for the Prince to lean away from her.
“Daebi-mama...”
“Eh?” Jae Kyung looked up but she looked down again when Prince Yi Eul met her eyes.
“It’s not my intention to kiss you again, as what we agreed in the contract but Daebi-mama hired some folks to watch on us so I did it,” Prince Yi Eul said.
“Oh, right,” Jae Kyung nodded. She almost forgot about it.
Suddenly, Prince Yi Eul smirked. “You sounded so disappointed,” he leaned closer to Jae Kyung’s face that the latter slightly backed away. “You’re anticipating, don’t ya?”
“Knock it off, Your Highness,” Jae Kyung said, dismissing the subject. “I have to go inside. I’m already tired. Good night!” she stomped her feet and run as fast as she could to get inside the apartment.
“That bum,” Prince Yi Eul shook his head as he went back inside the car to go home as well.
“I’m so tired. I want to go home.”
“You haven’t even reached half of your training to be my royal princess consort and you’ll show such tardiness? Tsk, tsk, tsk,” Jin Hee turned her head to Prince Wang Eun who’s now shaking his head at her. He’s wearing a very expensive suit. This guy never wears clothes that don’t come from luxurious brands. “You only have three weeks before the wedding, Jin Hee.”
“Yo-You! What are you doing here?” she pointed her finger unto him out of shock.
“Uh, this is one of the houses the royal family owns? Which, technically, I owned so you don’t have to ask me such ridiculous question, you i***t,” Prince Wang Eun rolled his eyes at her.
‘Wow, the attitude,’ she couldn’t help but comment in her mind.
She hastily put her finger down. “I-I meant, are your appointments done already?”
“I only have one appointment this evening,” Prince Wang Eun said. He, then, entered the pavilion after taking his shoes off and sat in front of Jin Hee. “And of course, I have to check out my future wife before going to my appointment.”
Future wife. It sounds great… if it’s not fake.

“God, your readers are nuts. They’re really desperate for your updates,” Hae In said, chuckling and shaking her head as she kept on reading the comments from Jae Kyung’s novel in FictionPad. As Jae Kyung’s best friend, she knows everything about the former which includes Jae Kyung as FictionPad’s one of the Top 10 writers, Snow Moon (and she’s the only one who knew about it). “Especially for your updates for ‘Geomanhan Wangjangnim’ (Korean title of Dealing Prince Arrogant). In your five years of career in FictionPad, this is the first time that one of your novels boomed like this. You’re now even in the Top 5 and your novel is still in Top 1 for consecutive weeks.”
Hae In knew about Jae Kyung writing that certain novel but she never, ever read it even if she supports her best friend in her writing career.
She just doesn’t like reading romantic novels crap. She prefers horror just like her boyfriend Jun Myeon.
“Yeah, right,” Jae Kyung said and sighed as she hugged her Levi Ackerman plushie pillow. (Levi Ackerman is a character from the famous Japanese anime, “Attack on Titan”) “I wish I could update but as you can see, I can’t. I’m too tired to do so because of my royal princess consort training stuff. It was insane. Crazy jam-packed since the wedding will be one month from now.”
Hae In put her phone down and looked at her best friend. “I still couldn’t believe it up until now, Jae Kyung-ah. Like, you just saved the Crown Prince a few months ago, you worked as his personal assistant and now, you’ll be married to him a month from now. Gosh, did you save the nation in your past life? You’re so damn lucky!”
Yeah, right. A sane, normal person could really think they’re lucky to be married to a royal but in my case, it’s not. I’m so unfortunate for the love of cake! Jae Kyung chose not to respond to Hae In and she just sighed instead.
“You’re living like a fairytale, much luckier than Cinderella since you’re also marrying a prince, A CROWN PRINCE. Damn, Jae Kyung. You could actually pass as one of the Disney Princesses, you know?”
“Huh... if that’s really the case.”
If it’s not really fake.
“What do you mean?”
Jae Kyung shook her head. “Nah, nevermind what I’ve said.”
Ding!
She turned her head to her laptop when she saw a notification from FictionPad. She read a comment that really caught her attention.
- This is the first time that I read a romance novel like this and I was hooked because aside from the plot, I find it really relatable. I like it! Hope to write more in this novel, Snow Moon-ssi.
After reading the said comment, Jae Kyung unconsciously smiled in front of her laptop’s screen.
Prince Yi Ryeo puts his phone down on his study table as he turned his swivel chair in front of the window, admiring the clear night sky with the waning gibbous moon shining. As he savored the silence around him, a memory of Jae Kyung wearing a hanbok looking so lovely with a grin on her face flashed on his mind.
He couldn’t help but chuckle as he rested his chin on his palm.
“Damn, I can’t take her face and her smile off my mind,” Prince Yi Eul muttered, a smile stayed on his face. “Kim Jae Kyung, you’re really that interesting that I couldn’t take you off my mind.”
